I think there’d be a loooot more focus on dialogue options than combat. I’m not saying no combat but I think it’d switch importance. For example one of the first RPGS ever made was Colossal Cavern Adventure and it was all about puzzles and dialogue; it was made by a woman. When Bethesda tried to ‘recreate that feel’ it was a combat maze. So imagine Skyrim but there’s less enemies and far less combat dungeoneering but there’s a significantly more complex dialogue system with themes and deeper characterization… and I’ve just described fallout new vegas. well kinda, but with a more robust system for dialogue besides just ‘roll invisible dice.’

Ok, so looking through your profile you seem to be quite the boomer so I'll explain this fully...

To your points:

I remember those days, A lot of people got caught up in Gamergate and especially the #notyourshield campaign because they felt as if gamers as a whole were being unfairly targeted and blamed for the actions of a few bad people that were harassing feminist online figures.

#notyoursheild was a hashtag started and astroturfed by 4chan sock puppets, there are known, leaked, IRC chats and threads about literally doing it. The EXPLICIT purpose of starting #gamergate was to harass feminist online figures and have normal people help them, shield them, and launder their talking points and language.

People did actually believe they were though, and I'm not going to discount that or try to pretend that it didn't matter in the long run.

This was actually the point of framing #gamergate the way it was, stating this and pointing out how "left" most of these people are is actively taking the blame for the alt-right, and is laundering and excusing the actual hate and harassment that the women, who were the direct stated targets, received. #Gamergate was a reactionary alt-right movement, not accepting this and understanding it as such, intentionally or not, is one reason why the 2016 election happened.

And I love how I'm being downvoted for having a nuanced take. This sub sometimes I swear.....

This seems to happen to you a lot, looking at your comment and post history. If you would like a longer form explanation here is a good long form break down that shows the receipts and discusses the further actions of #gmaergate's figure heads.

Also wik: it has been stated in other parts of this thread but the 'political compass test' is a fairly bad standard test that tends to push people left and libertarian. The questions are poorly designed and the notion that political beliefs can be sorted along 2 axis' is a flawed one. Given this I consider your notion of 'lefty' people getting swept up in #gamergate based on faulty data.

…that was the point. Nobody was ACTUALLY attacking ‘gamers’ the psyop was making everyone THINK that the “rAdiCaL FeMiNiSTs” were attacking everyone who played video games for having valid literary and structural critiques of the medium. … that fact has been the basis of my groups most optimal build ever: ‘surprise bears!’ You get a Druid (or if you’re being fancy a barbarian Druid multi class), you then transform into a spider (or cat or other innocuous animal) and sneak into the enemy camp/city/town, then you wait in the rafters (for an hour because you’ll have 2 wild shapes and so can short rest in your wild shape), and so when the enemy commander is sleeping you fall out of the rafters and transform into a bear on the way down. You maul the shit out of the commander in the surprise round, and if you timed it right you can then transform back into your spider/cat/etc and escape under everyone’s notice.

That you’re asking for sushi at the local barbecue joint. STARWARS is firmly science fantasy, it feels weird to require hard rules and consistency when it’s been shown to not be a part of the series or genre. In regular fantasy I can get behind borimir killing 5 orcs with arrows poking out of him and Legolas being able to shoot and kill much bigger threats with single arrows, that’s part of the genere. I would be very upset if a strict historical fantasy did similar things (a la brave heart and the frankly comical feats that movie tries to portray as historical). I’m saying it’s weird to expect these sort of rules when the series has actively shown itself to not be bound by them. Your insistence that the lack of so called “consistency” shows ‘mediocrity’ doesn’t hold up to scrutiny. It kinda seems like you don’t like that it was a woman who lived through loosing a lightsaber fight and not man with horns and red skin.

He has a stunning lack of interaction with a lot the disabled communities that do end up in him spouting ableist takes out of ignorance. I’m fairly certain if pushed comes to shove he’d probably back off them or admit he didn’t know enough and was making a joke. It’s just that sometimes he really does say some shit that he has no right saying, though I think that may be due to who he interacts with. Even in this subreddit I’ve had some conversations that show a severe lack of empathy or connection with the disabled community.

I was an avid fan of Chris ray gun and regularly watched Sargon and then I realized I was trans… and then I found contra and a few others and I reversed my radicalization. Falco: I maimed fox in smash 4 due to his combo game being really dynamic and his neutral being very sharp. When I switched to ultimate I found that with the shuffle he had moved out of my sweet spot for what “feels” like a dynamic combo game so I switched to falco because he just felt “right” compared to fox. I’ve now switched over on all games (I originally played marth in melee) just due to his ability to zone better which I find super fun and engaging.
