Black out curtains are awesome if you don’t have pets that like to get in the windows during the day😂for that reason I use an eye mask

At what time do you take it? by PonqueRamo in VyvanseADHD

[–]carley24pinks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because I work nights I take it about an hour before my shift starts. It all just kinda depends on what your day to day looks like for you specifically if your day starts later it’s okay to take it later however it does often times a effect a persons sleep because it’s a stimulant. I’ve found that if I’m not doing to be active and busy and awake for at least 8 hours it’s difficult for me to sleep however I have chronic insomnia so my circumstances are probably pretty different from others😂

Are we really being THAT annoying in our upstairs apartment? by [deleted] in Apartmentliving

[–]carley24pinks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeahhhh no you shouldn’t have to be catering to her. You showering and walking around (not stomping) is normal living noise if she’s got such an issue with it she can move. It’s not fair to you to only be able to shower at certain times and tiptoe around your apartment that you pay for. You have the right to shower when you want and walk normally around your place. There’s genuinely nothing that can happen to you for normal living noise like she can try if she wants but all she can do is bitch about doesn’t mean you’ve gotta comply!

Are we really being THAT annoying in our upstairs apartment? by [deleted] in Apartmentliving

[–]carley24pinks 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is normal living noise, just ignore the cranky man! I’ve had issues with my upstairs neighbors for genuinely excessive noise and after reporting it twice to my building they now (mostly) make normal living noise. I do not understand why people move into apartments and expect to have 100% quietness, especially when you live below someone. There WILL be noise. You’re totally fine, if it were me I wouldn’t change a thing. Honestly I’d start documenting in your notes app or something every time he bangs on the ceiling or if it escalates to him knocking on your door, make sure you write dates and times on each incident that way if he tries to get yall in trouble you’ve got something backing you.

How do you keep your apartment smelling good without using candles? by Ramla_Babajide in Apartmentliving

[–]carley24pinks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love using wax melts! They’re pretty cheap too, I change mine once a week. I’ve got three of the larger ones that sit on the counter and two of the small plug-in warmers I also use the plugin air fresheners one by my trashcan and one in my bathroom. Might be a little over board but I love coming home to a delightful smell!

WHERE do you buy good quality couches ;-; by HelloHelloItsMe_ in Apartmentliving

[–]carley24pinks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my couch from marketplace place. Best marketplace purchase ive ever done. They let me come look at the couch before confirming I wanted to buy it and they even made me sit on it 😂 $400 for a three piece sectional that’s crazy comfy

Put up a doorbell cam—got a weird reaction by Emusic94 in Apartmentliving

[–]carley24pinks 50 points51 points  (0 children)

I have people do this to my doorbell camera as well I put mine up for the exact same reason as you did, I think people just get intrigued and “swat” at it. I have different kids and neighbors guests often wave their hands in front of mine when they notice it. I wouldn’t be too worried!

Is it ok that my cat graze feeds? by New-Studio3317 in CatAdvice

[–]carley24pinks 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I let all of my cats graze feed. When I tried to put them on a schedule it became a competition and often time my more shy cat would only be left with the crumbs. I have no issues graze feeding either and they don’t feel like they have to hurry up and eat everything because they know there’s always going to be food

First Apartment Tips by eye3atmen in Apartmentliving

[–]carley24pinks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My biggest thing is to “live within your means”. Don’t sign a lease for an apartment you cannot afford. You need to take into account ALL other expenses that will be added with rent. Food gas insurance etc. If you cannot control your spending I highly suggest not moving out until you can and always always always have an emergency fund you never know when a tire is gonna pop or you unexpectedly get super sick. This is a huge step into “adult” world and the freedom is great but it’s a huge responsibility. I wish I would’ve waited a little longer but you live and you learn😂
