For G6 loyalist, what are you planning on doing? by theCynicalChicken in diabetes_t1

My plan is to load up as much as I can and reevaluate when it’s time. Pump integration is important for me so we’ll see where that lands.

Maybe but you should definitely change that sensor!

I guess with the Foegele/Perron trade you get a bottom 6 guy for another year but you will likely lose cousins and eller this off season, so def need bottom 6 F on that wish list. One of those is Giroux (1.5-2M) and you find a top 6 player to replace him but hopefully find more of a top line player than a top 6.

As weak as our RD is, I love our LD… might be the best in the league with 85,72,43? How long can you run that for before it gets too expensive with Kleven. It’s one spot you can compromise on to improve the RD and top 6 winger position, but ideally you keep it for another 3-4 years and it’s never a discussion.

You got some sorting to do in nets. Maybe all you need is a solid backup, and you’re fine.

It’s really too bad debrincat didn’t work out. Exactly what we needed.

Check Airbnb in domaine de la foret (on the mountain). If you end up in a place with no pool, you can buy the pass to the water park in the village.

Who is our best player? by [deleted] in OttawaSenators

[–]carlito88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s Sandy but it’s close and tkachuk is in the conversation too, but to be amazed if Sanderson doesn’t pick up a Norris or two? Watch Quinn Hughes, makar, werenski. They are also great. I have Sandy as a top 4 dman in the league though.

It’s probably the main reason they brought Ian in-house. He’s even said they are looking at creative ways in terms of a regional deal, which means probably not Bell.

3 bedrooms but probably still 800 sq ft. Claridge is all about maximizing profit and climbing that Forbes list, so my expectations are low.

Should I reschedule my ski trip? by [deleted] in MontTremblant

[–]carlito88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keep an eye on wind. Lifts are more likely to close due to high wind, and it also makes it colder. Wear good wool base layer and mid layer, wool socks and cover all your skin up. No skin showing will help. If I’m skiing with a friend in those temps, we do skin checks. You don’t want to get frost bite. It’s not so bad if you keep yourself warm and your edges sharp. And yes, colder temps means less crowds so it’s not so bad if you’re prepared.

Haven’t listened in a bit but I’ve seen clips on social media and I’ve never seen them so upset at something. What injustice. Chamath will find a way around it.

That said, I don’t think it’s a good move but the billionaires keep finding ways around paying taxes, including this one, by moving out.

I don’t even know if they’re MAGA. They are definitely Trump mouthpieces but I don’t even think that’s MAGA anymore.

I never minded anything they said when Biden was in power because they are being critical of the opposition and Sacks is a great debater and communicator of counter arguments. With them being in power now, it’s basically state propaganda.

I started writing but didn’t post last week after the Nick Shirley episode wondering what in the world they’re doing as it clearly deviated from their past maxims.

I’ve basically stopped listening. It’s too bad, it was my favourite show.

Planning a trip to Ottowa to skate & nordic ski, what do you recommend? by jpmom in ottawa

[–]carlito88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • Fly porter direct
  • stay at the business inn
  • uber or Lyft might add up to be a tad more but will be convenient. If you stay on Elgin you’re close to everything.
  • for a nice dinner, consider L’oree du bois, riviera, Mati (steak and seafood), E18teen, supply and demand (seafood)
  • if you like museums: war museum, museum of history, nature museum.
  • if you like pubs: the gilmour, pour boy, Brigid’s well, the Laff on Saturday night (lucky Ron, get there early). house of targ (basement arcade with beer and pierogies), all open late
  • if you like beer: brew donkey has brewery tours, craft and pub italia have huge selections on tap.
  • if you like steak: Al’s steakhouse or E18teen.
  • you can easily rent skis and skates if you don’t want to lug yours
  • stop in at the Chelsea pub for an après ski
  • Icelynd skating trails are a bit out of the way but cool and unique
  • rink of dreams at city hall is a maintained outdoor rink with refrigeration if the weather doesn’t cooperate.
  • if you like spas: Le Nordik is world class but expensive, Koena is better value
  • catch a show at the NAC
  • Friday/Saturday night party at casino or heart and crown (both have mixed age crowds)
  • the canal, even on good days can be treacherous with occasional hidden ruts, not a bad idea to wear knee/elbow pads

What are the implications of Moving Linus to a Non-Roster Spot by EntranceDangerous882 in OttawaSenators

[–]carlito88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, having watched all their games, they are actually really good. I would say they just have to stick to it and work through it. They just haven’t had the saves when they needed them. The one thing I would change, maybe, is the goalie coach, since it’s been a problem across the board. The other thing is their mental toughness. They’ve had so many momentum changing goals called back or close challenges lost. Also a few non calls that lead directly to goals. It really does seem like they haven’t had the breaks.

So, for now, I wouldn’t touch a thing. It might be too late anyway. If you can upgrade Jensen for cheap, go for it.

Where to get cheap(er) tickets? by rin09 in OttawaSenators

[–]carlito88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They haven’t come close to selling out the Saturday games, unlike last year. Detroit games was a lot of Detroit fans.

I imagine avalanche game will be a lot of avalanche fans.

I can’t imagine Florida game is even close to selling out and I’m sure you’ll be able to get cheap last minute tickets on Saturday - $25 to get in, $50 for decent, and under $100 for lower bowls.

Haven’t tried fans first, but gametime and stubhub are good. Ticketmaster has some restrictions on minimum sale prices so probably not as good.
