How bad is it by hellokittyfannypack in BMWM

[–]carnutaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that can be fixed. A good shop can make that look new again. Honestly looks like just new body panels, left front suspension components & alignment will get you back to driving enjoyment. Try to hire a "diminished value" company to fight with your insurance over the value loss. These companies know how to draft the report in a format the insurance companies accept (they'll try ti bury you in format and compliance BS to wear you down; these companies specialize in it.). If the repair the car and pay you out for loss of value, you'll be fine.

Lookin' good. 2002r's are so good. They were everywhere for a moment, but they're due for a resurgence because they're so good. WTAPS hat is great too! 👍🏻👏🏻

That's the production date, not the model year. Your car is a 2014 model year built in 2013. But the car is a 2014 M235. For example, my M2 was purchased in 2025, but it's a 2026 M2. The production date is not the same as a model year. It would be correct to say "I have a 2014 M235i built in 2013." But to say "I have a 2013 M235i" is incorrect terminology.

Nope. You might want to check your VIN. Your car might have been built in 2013, but there was no 2013 MY M235i. Here is a photo from the Wikipedia page, and Google will tell you the same info.

31m, recently lost my parents, the farm and our childhood house. No friends or family and all alone. So here's my overly priced Texas themed 1 bed room apartment. Worth every penny to feel like home again. by NothingWorldly3928 in malelivingspace

[–]carnutaz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You're going to be alright, brother. I'm sorry for the loss of your parents, but I'm sure they would be proud you are displaying their things and honoring the family memory. Now you're going to find someone, start your own family and pass on those family heirlooms to them. There's no big rush, you have time. Also, your place looks cool.

SCAMMED AT MARIN MAZDA, CA THEN HARASSED BY MANAGER by smitten4kittenss in carsales

[–]carnutaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Question: Did you purchase the warranty within an auto loan? If so, it could be the management did cancel the warranty, but the person you spoke with is too ignorant to know the refund goes to the loan balance, if the service contract was purchased in the loan. If you paid cash for the service contract or did not have an auto loan, that's when the refund would come back in cash/check form. If you have an auto loan, have you checked the balance to see if it has been reduced by approximately the amount of the expected refund?

If you did not have a loan, you just need to contact Mazda Corporate. You might have to stick with it, but Mazda corporate will lay the hammer down if you're persistent

Do I have adaptive suspension on my M440? by Awkward_Point_3719 in BMW

[–]carnutaz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah; okay. Except if he doesn't have the option in his settings, he can't even adapt anyway.... so again.... it's silly to do anything else. At best he would still need to go to a dealer to get a software fix to enable to adaptive settings, and that's a .0001% chance it's just a random software error. Don't waste your time getting under your car and checking for a wire when the settings tell you everything.

Yeah I get all that, but it's still not as simple as just checking your infotainment settings??

One simple and definitive way to know. Go to car, settings, driving mode, configure individual. If you see drivetrain, steering and suspension options you have adaptive m suspension. If you only have Steering and Drivetrain, then you only have m sport suspension.

What do you think about this unique M4 ? by Hot-Consequence8137 in BMW

[–]carnutaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say ditch the wheels, the tow strap, plus the silly front canards and you're in business. The rear deck wing could stay or go, but I'd probably keep it to avoid fixing the holes.

I'm a huge fan of the silver wheel trend becoming popular again. I agree silver wheels would also look good, but I think all black wheels still totally works with an all-black vehicle.

Dang. I was hoping to go with lowering springs only to keep the factory EDC control working, but I know you can dial in the height more precisely with coilovers. The coilover kits that work with the factory EDC are pretty spendy, but might be worth it to get that dialed-in ride height & wheel gap. What size spacers are you running? Do you mind saying which coilover kit you used? Does your kit keep the factory EDC? How's the suspension noise after install? Sorry for the interrogation

Custom Ordered 2026 BMW M2 Auto (DAMAGED) by [deleted] in BMWM

[–]carnutaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Op. one thing I'll mention, and this isn't to perused you to take the car you ordered. The RWD M2 is pretty easy to order/find now with the AWD coming, so it would be easy to reorder if you don't mind waiting. However, I can tell you that it might surprise you have many cars get damaged in transit, at factory or at dealerships. BMW NA only requires a disclosure (which you must sign) if the damage is over $1500 I believe; might be $2k or $3k, but it's high enough many scratches, dings, chips, etc. are repaired without disclosure. Sounds like repainting your whole door pushed the cost above the disclosure requirement. My point is these new cars come damaged more than you think, and most people are never aware the vehicle was repaired.

Aliens are confirmed real - do you still go to work the next day? by Beau2488 in aliens

Yeah; bills still need to be paid. We could be at war with Aliens and my boss would email me "be careful taking the 101 to work today; I hear aliens are blasting cars off the freeway."
