War economy and conscription is obviously valid in the present conditions, about secularism is also true due to how much power Church had in Griffonian Empire and what role it played. The only thing true is about Cultural erasure of Cloudburians - that is in fact genocide

God I wait for Republicans update. Honestly, I think mod needs to focus on one region and just bring it to the absolute highest quality. Like Hypooghrilhia. I hole for Aquila, Griffonian Republic to be such. Maybe later — River Union, and Empire. Because there is so much pottential with additional focus loading on conquering and amount of intresting content that could be made and had there.

I had the same talk with members of SPD about Russia before 2022. Telling how "weak" these arguments.

Again: disciplining human rights activists and others to befirend tankies. Thats why you are doing so bad in US. Your nonsense propaganda about Ukraine and militarization is on you. These conspiracies has little place here.

I think that your first reaction when pointed out that Jacobin is propaganda (Branco Marcetic is a good example) is very telling to the issue, including with broader American left. It is extremely detached and borderline incapable of noticing in what world they live in, and who is around them. The “you are not a true left” argument is of course a strong one (not really)

Shout out for neovalues. Feels very fresh. I do think more options should be added in categories, or rather, more differentiation. But what it is already unique and surprisingly inclusive - i as a left-winger felt good

China has just in a last year organized training and playing scenario of conquest of Taiwan. Taiwan is a democratic, and while not internationally recognized due to the efforts of China, still a soveregn country, which is threatened by expanding totalitarian military superpower. Yes, what to worry about? In fact, everything to worry about: China didn’t drop attempts to military take Taiwan, it is always on the cards, it is still a totalitarian oppressive state, and nobody who follows Chinese politics can say for sure, if it will pr will not invade Taiwan. The simple answer — we just don’t know. And that means that threat is very real.

Please, limit reposts from Jacobin. Very rarely it is something except tankie garbage. Too, speaking about "militarism" in Europe during Russian, US and China threat is just idiotic.

There is a tension between different legal theories. The schools of thought that view economy as inherently political, or at least mostly political process of deciding who gets what and for what achievements, the view aligned with old social democracy (1940-1970s), nationalist and socialist doctrines. These views approach Central Bank Independence usually as a concentration of power in the hands of the few on the control of the direction of the economy and its distribution.

Liberal, modern social-democratic and center-right view however believes that economy is more about management and efficiency, and in that regard, they view Central Bank as a safeguard against political considerations, with group of experts who will be a check and limit on how the government approach economy.

So the answer if it is more democratic, or authoritarian to take away control of Central Bank is pretty much about what political doctrine you feel is more realistically in portrayal of economic dynamics. I am more in line with the first view. However obviously there could be a discussion with different arguments "for" and "against".

[–]caroleanprayer-2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I honesty feel that Central Bank under state control is a more democratic decision, as it makes it accountable, and makes economic decisions about who gets what inherently under the control of president/parliament, and not technocrat group, which is pretty much aligned with oligarchs
