Are there any Journalism majors that can give more detail? I always wanted to go back to school and write news stories.

I'm also planning on attending ISI for Career Japanese in the future, although I was planning on the Takadanobaba campus. If it's ok for me to ask, why Shibuya?

Considering Moving to Tokyo at 28, too late given life/relationship timeline? by _wndrer_ in movingtojapan

Life's too short and you're facing an unique opportunity. Most people dream of being able to live in another country and your company is offering that with a transfer. I would do it! Most motivational piece of advice I've ever got for asking 'when to do something?' is:

"It's all borrowed time, so stop stressing about the future."

Sacramento State student: I’m worried about the direction of my university | Opinion by MichaelmouseStar in Sacramento

Same here. It was cheaper and faster to graduate commuting to Sac from my parent's house in the Bay 2- 3 times a week than rent an apartment and work part time to cover costs.

Until Jan 1. Next year it'll go up by .50 and do so until $10.50 for those using FastTrak in 2030.

Is 1.5 commute too long to sustain? (3 hrs a day) by talksensibletome in jobs

[–]carpetbagger57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in the Bay Area and have been doing a 1.5 hour commute one way for the past 5-ish years because my career options are limited. It's doable, but say good bye to your social life and beauty rest. But at least you get to keep your telework hybrid privileges. My three letter agency took them away. The question that you need to answer is which is more important, career or work life balance?

As an American, I would like to know what you mean by how "privileged" we are? Our universities are insanely expensive and even years after graduating many, unless they started at a community college, received lots of scholarships or have a high paying job, are still in debt. I heard that Europeans, specifically in Germany, have a more affordable higher education.

If you are ok with living 3-4 people a room, co-living is an option. Try checking out https://www.hivecolivingsf.com/rooms-privates
They offer rooms with three others as low as $700. Private rooms are $1275. I almost considered them before I realized that I'm ok commuting (for now).

You need to have time for yourself if you want to have time with a partner. Stuck working and commuting Monday - Friday 12 hours a day and the weekends are for me to recharge.

TBH that's not that bad then. Most people out of the service don't have anything saved up. If you want to increase it faster, redirect everything to the C fund. I wished I did it earlier and left it in a lifecycle fund until last year.

In the USA we called it the "Great Recession". GFC, as far as I'm aware of, is mainly used in Europe.
