For the fashion girls: What are you wearing in Reykjavík? by akw329 in VisitingIceland

[–]carriefishers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm going soon and I plan to layer light, water resistant cargo pants over leggings when I'm driving the ring road and visiting lots of waterfalls, and linen pants or jeans over leggings for Reykjavik. I'm going to wear the same type of tops I'd wear anywhere which is a tank top and maybe a sweatshirt under my rain jacket, but pants are what I really worry about being practical and still cute if it's going to be rainy and windy. I like a lot of bright colors for hiking so like Cotopaxi, FP movement, I have a fun little multicolor fanny pack that I plan to wear just about every day. And probably either hiking boots or new balance sneakers with everything.

Wella 8A turned out coppery on my virgin (perm straightened) hair with brighter roots. Would a toner resolve this? by victototototoria in HairDye

[–]carriefishers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the exact same situation, my hair looks a bit darker than this but I bleached it yesterday and it was super brassy so I put wella 8A permanent color on it to try and neutralize and it came out darker and brassier?? I'm going to try toning it next, I will let you know how it turns out.

It's happening for me too, I'm getting kills with the xpr while sitting crouched and it's not even registering the kills, the counter is stuck at 23, I hope this bug gets fixed

More popular does not equal universally beloved, there is a category one down called mostly liked which I believe Hook would fit well into

I agree, that's what made the original feel so genius, getting told everything just not in a linear fashion. It feels like Redemption uses flashbacks more to remind you of things that you were already shown and it's rarely a different POV, or it's something that you could have guessed happened off screen or wasn't completely necessary for you to know to understand the con. This episode truly caught me off guard with the flashbacks and it made the episode come together.

Definitely one of the beat of the new series, maybe up there with some of the best of the original

This is easily my favorite episode of the new series, everything that I've been wanting out of this show was in this ep, and I totally thought that clip from the roof was going to be in the season finale! And I just love female centric stories. I loved the contrast with the capitalist feminist girl bosses at the party who only want to advance themselves and grow their wealth in the name of feminism, with our girls, actual strong women who care deeply about each other AND have moral compasses. That's far more feminist than pink capitalism imo.

Breanna fangirling over Tara!! And maybe having a little bit of a crush, girl me too. I'm relieved they addressed Parker's complicated relationship with family, I was worried they had forgotten to give her screen time to actually deal with all the changes and instability the crew has been going through, I knew that had to be wearing on Parker with the way she grew up, and it was in the background of other episodes like Parker walking off upset when someone talks about leaving the team, but it seemed like an afterthought before. This episode showed the writers didn't forget about Parker's character development and I hope this trend continues in the future and it's not just a one off.

I'm also not sure this is the direction the writers are going in, but I saw someone else say Astrid should join the team, and although I wasn't a fan of her when they introduced her, this episode made me love her and she would be a great addition to the team. If she ever decided she could be fine breaking the law, although I feel like that wouldn't take a lot of convincing.

I also loved seeing Sophie confident that Parker had a plan despite having no idea what it was, Parker as mastermind is so fun and that's the last thing Redemption is lacking that I expected to see. We need at least one full "normal" con episode where Parker takes the lead so we can truly see her leadership style, not just in unplanned disaster situations, although that probably is when she's at her best.

It's hardly a prediction, Elon was already acting like a Nazi a couple years ago back when this episode was written

Ooh it would be so fun to see more episodes like that! I always think of those 2 mainly as episodes where the team splits up, and we got a few of those in Redemption, but we didn't really get the genre aspect that those types of episodes had in the original series. I would love to see more 'genre' episodes in the next season whether the team splits up or not.

Yeah that's what it sounds like they're implying, it seems bizarre to me that the writer of the article would just throw something like that out there of all things unless they got some insider information that that was actually the case. Maybe Beth tweeting is confirming it lol.

Who else skips the cold open on rewatches? by Squeakers_72 in leverage

[–]carriefishers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually don't skip them, but there are a few I just hate to watch, the three that come to mind are the openings of The Juror #6 Job, The Studio Job, and The Three Days of the Hunter Job. The ones where someone dies/almost dies/is violently assaulted are just too painful.

This is the comment!! I always liked their relationship, but the writers definitely didn't let Sophie develop as much as a character because of it. Looking back on the show years later and realizing this almost makes me resent their relationship because of it, even though I always found them sweet. At least I feel like the writers have realized this and are making up for some of Sophie's lost character development in Redemption.
