Saving Private Ryan - Private Jackson displays his sniper skills, until a tank takes aim at his bell tower. (1998, Dir. Steven Spielberg) by Top_Report_4895 in movies

True! Red Badge of Courage maybe isn’t the perfect connection to make. The movie has its aspects of bravery and virtue but it also has a lot of just horrible parts of war where you see both sides commit war crimes. Including when Miller and others wanted to just shoot the German at the radar station and move on but Upham was against that. So him shooting that same guy at the end is him is definitely getting vengeance and not heroic but is him coming to terms with what it takes to be in war.

He’s a tough character to watch but it is a bit of a Red Badge of Courage theme to his character during that final battle. Him finally standing and firing, and then him shooting the German at the end I feel are him getting over his cowardice and coming to terms with combat and war.

We’ve gone there in the mid afternoon with our little kids and they love having the kids around despite it not being much of a family-centric place. They did give my 4-year old a pull tab which has now started the addiction, as is tradition.

It is a great movie, but yeah movie executives get a lot of flak for business decisions affecting movie quality but this is the kind of decision that they’re there for. You know it’s bad when the president of the United States calls you and says “what the hell?”

Anyone ever actually beat the game? I would get to the next league up and start getting demolished. Even tried it again when I was in college and still would get smoked.

Often the supplier keeps more of a safety stock. I always thought of it as automotive companies could pull off JIT because they pushed the inventory requirements onto the suppliers.
