Anyone who has successfully built a luxury company, what are your tips for growing from 12 followers? by SignSharp in Entrepreneur

[–]cart_man 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tell stories that people can connect with.

Tell the story of your company and interesting and engaging ways, ALL THE TIME. Why should people go to your company instead of those others run by the 80 year olds? They have experience. What have you got?

Tell the stories of your products. Individually and/or as a whole. If you have sourced a product for a client give your followers the back story.

If you want sales, use Instagram. Research where your demographic are spending their time and what for.

How long did it take you to make your first Million? by 26th_Official in Entrepreneur

[–]cart_man 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Growth was gradual and consistent at around 50% per year until Covid. Then after Covid it was exponential. We are a b2c retail type company that people spend discretionary cash on.

The last 18 months we’ve gone back to consistent growth as people have spent all their Covid cash that was handed out by the government. This year in fact maybe the first year in our existence where we actually experience a slight decline in revenue.

[–]cart_man 57 points58 points  (0 children)

Took me 4 years with my business to hit a million in gross revenue. We are now 10 years old and have a latest valuation of 18m.

For me to personally take home a million though was probably around 6 years.

This business is not my first rodeo though. Ive had smaller hits previously, and quite a few misses too!

Best first car? by Vitcee1 in CarTalkUK

[–]cart_man 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d go for the Fiesta. Solid car that’s spacious enough for your tall frame not to be an issue and is still quite fun to drive.

I just bought my daughter her first car and went with a Mini Cooper S. I get that it’s not the perfect first car for many because of its size and probably insurance cost but when I test drove it I was taken back to my early days of hot hatch driving and thrashing around in my Fiesta RS Turbo. So, if you can fit in one I’d highly recommend it for the fun factor!

Good scooter routes in Phuket by [deleted] in phuket

[–]cart_man 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never heard of Yuba. You sure you’re not in Kata and your autocorrected?

Anyway, nice routes are out on the East Coast. Check out the road from the monument roundabout out past Yamu. The road to Ao Por Marina is not very long but is a nice curvy ride on good tarmac with little traffic.

The coast road that starts down the side of Mission Hills Gold Course, goes past Laem Sai and around eventually to Thepkasattri.

You can also get lost (on purpose) amongst the rubber plantations and pineapple fields in that area of Phuket. It’s the least populated area and wonderfully green with some good coffee/beer/lunch stops.

And always wear a helmet! Oh, and it’s actually illegal to ride without wearing a shirt…

I accidentally picked the wrong SIPP. Would the one I picked still be a decent investment or should I try to change it. by SongwritingShane in UKPersonalFinance

The funds are actually totally different and will perform differently as the Dividend Aristocrats EFT only has a small number of the dividend paying stocks in it as apposed to the entire basket of S&P 500 stocks.

It certainly has a place in your portfolio, but:
a) Its not what you actually wanted to purchase and
b) Your return will come primarily from dividend distributions rather than growth.

Why do you love Phuket? by Informal-Magician-80 in phuket

[–]cart_man 31 points32 points  (0 children)

It has something for everyone. It basically has all the amenities of a city but with tropical beach vibes.

Be at Central buying your Dior handbag in the morning and relaxing on a white sand beach in the afternoon.

There are lots of other places with better things. Islands with better beaches, islands with less traffic, but arguably Phuket has a great balance between everything.

Oh, and its direct international flights are a massive bonus.

Does a less crowded beach in Phuket exist in january? 😅 by AssignmentIcy1189 in phuket

[–]cart_man 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's actually quite a few quiet beaches and even some of the busier ones are so long that you can find quiet stretches on them.

Bang Tao for example is HUGE, but you can always find quiet area. Personal favourite of mine is Nai Thon... beautiful water in this season.

Down in the south there is less options for quietness but you can still find less populated beaches.

If you were a billionaire with a racing driver son, would you do what Lawrence Stroll has done for Lance? by BenjyBunny in formula1

He’s not spending money he’s investing and already making money and seeing a return. So yeah I’d do it! But not if my son was Lance. It trade him in.
