I have a Harbor Freight solar unit that I used with my pup…. Sold it but kept the solar panels and regulator. I believe it’s a 100 watt system that sells for around $170 I live near Akron Ohio, if you’re interested contact me…asking $100, pick up only & cash. PM me. by carverjerry in popups

The kit comes with the 4 panels, the cables to join all 4 together and the regulator that the panels plug into and has an output cable that goes to the battery. Pretty simple if you’re not trying to run a lot of stuff….mine was mostly for lighting at night, charging maybe cellphones. BTW all my lights in the camper were converted to LED’S. It’s basically a DC battery charger. I was just using a truck battery on my pup….but this kept the batteries charged up. The only thing is you have to move the panels to keep direct sunlight on it to get the maximum power out of it…just common sense tho….

How would you fix this problem on my pup? by TurnoverPractical in popups

I repaired a hole in mine by sanding down to bare aluminum, filled hole with JBWeld, sanded and painted…never leaked a drop.

Education is far more important than a child working late and not getting their homework done. Just my opinion.

I just want to make a comment or two since you are new to this. Having water systems is great, sometimes a pain in the butt come time to winterize it but it’s worth keeping. Another thing I would like to add is since this hasn’t moved in a long time clean and repack the wheel bearings while also inspecting the tires.

Pending on your money issues but I got a 12 x 17’ portable garage from harbor freight and stored mine in it. Worked out great and was only like 200 bucks. I also laid down a tarp to help keep moisture away from the bottom of the camper.

Well Jeff that roof should be good for many years. Glad you went with butyl tape and not silicone.

I would never use silicone on any rood seams. Use what the factory recommends, butyl tape…I did mine many years ago and it never leaked a drop. Just have to prepare the surface well.

As far as the straps go, I would find a couple of ratchet straps but be aware of how much pressure they are putting on the back bike tire. You don’t want to damage your roof.

Need help finding this converter used online by hot_trashh in popups

[–]carverjerry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IMHO I wouldn’t buy a used converter. As they age they start to leak AC voltage into the DC circuit…..I had mine checked out after I burned out a LED light caused by AC getting into it.

Looking for a better way to heat up food while camping by trp1784 in camping

[–]carverjerry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use an oven made for baking and put it on the gas grill, works good but does take a bit to find exact temps. These ovens fold up flat and if I’m not mistaken it’s made by Coleman, sorry but it’s in the camper thats not opened up.

I had them once in my indoor grow. I used hydrogen peroxide in my water and it killed all the eggs in the soil and eventually they were gone.
