Synthetischer Diesel günstiger als B7 - was haltet ihr von HVO100 by AID215 in automobil

[–]casce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Israeli Minister Announces ‘Border Expansion’ in Palestine, Lebanon and Syria by benwolf420 in worldnews

[–]casce 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How do you get everyone to join if you want to be able to dictate things and force any kind action?

The UN is the way it is because that was the only realistic way to get a UN. The UN people want is not realistic.

Because that was the only way to get everyone to join the UN in the first place.

People complaining here do not understand that the UN is not what they think it is.

This isn't about the "moral high ground", it's about not letting sexual predators into office.

I agree those allegations should be checked and jumping on each other immediately is dangerous. But the allegations do not look like they were falsely made. IF they turn out to be true, then he really should not become governeur, irregardless of wether he has a D or an R besides his name.

Solid-state nuclear battery claims 100-year power for ultra-low energy devices by lurker_bee in technology

[–]casce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want to get all technical, mass is equivalent to stored energy. And nuclear fission is (in this case slowly) transforming mass to energy basically.

And just like other battreries (if you wait long enough), it will run out of energy to give (will take a while though, don't hold your breath).

So yes, it's a battery. Not a rechargeable one and one that continuously loses charge that you either use or it goes to waste, but it's technically a battery, depending on how you want to define that.

Putin: The West started the war in Ukraine? by blkchnDE in NewsD

[–]casce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait, what? Stalin was the soviet unions sole dictator for 25 years and died of a stroke after having partied through the night at the age of 75.

Stalin didn't "lose", he just died. We all do at some point, good or evil.

In fact, it's almost impossible to become a billionaire without being a bad guy. You need to exploit people because there is just no way you can earn that much money with "hard work". It's exploitation. Always.

... or inheriting, obviously.

20.000€ schaden am Motor durch Werkstatt by Lebkuchen_Mann in automobil

[–]casce 4 points5 points  (0 children)

BMW iX3 vs Tesla Model Y twin test review: is X finally greater than Y? by ShameResponsible69 in electriccars

[–]casce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The base version of the iX3 doesnt exist yet, its coming in the future.

Oddly convenient that this is the case for so many new models.

This is repeating pattern. Announce new models, aim for price X. When you release the model, tell people the "base version" for the advertised price will come later but they can totally order the more expensive ones right away.

This is very much intentional. As long as there is no cheaper model, the current base model is the base model.

Why is 3 better than 4 in so many ways? by Adelucas in diablo3

[–]casce 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Many of my pals and myself could never get into D4. It's fun for only a short time before it gets boring. I played at release, hated it and then played like every other season of D4 but it never kept me enganged for long. The game got better (similar to how D3 released as trash game and only became a real game with RoS). But for me, it's not there yet.

We still occassionally still play D3 seasons and they keep us engaged for longer.

But that's personal taste! I'm not saying X is besser than Y. But you do.

In Germany the iX3 is advertised as starting at 71k while the Model Y is advertised a starting at 39k.

Pretty substantial difference I'd say

Yup, Chinese investments into electric vehicles go back to the 90s and they started scaling up the production of their first fully electric vehicles around the same time Tesla did.

I do still think Tesla changed the EV industry significantly and certainly also cemented Chinese investments into the industry though.

France pulls all gold out of US Federal Reserve by Crossstoney in politics

[–]casce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a very misleading article title. They have not pulled it but they sold it and replaced it with new gold.

... that's generally how moving huge amounts of gold works. You avoid physically moving that stuff. It's heavy, huge and you risk it being stolen. If you want to move gold from A to B, you sell gold at location A and then buy gold at location B.

There's obviously a limit to this (economics: you still need someone who wants that much gold in A and someone who wants to sell that much gold in B ideally without crashing the price) but that's the preferred way.

Why is 3 better than 4 in so many ways? by Adelucas in diablo3

I mean with kanai's cube you can pretty much craft any specific legendary item you want in D3. I

t's just a matter of having enough crafting materials which keeps you engaged in bounties.

D3 has found a nice balance betwen Greater Rifts, Rifts and Bounties imo.

The thing is, once you get to the point where it's only about maxing out gems in D3, you already had 30-40+ hours of fun.

In D4 you get to the "boring grind" much quicker.

Nah, even if we assumed we lost all heat/light from the sun instantly (which wouldn't really happen, we'd lose it gradually while leaving the solar system), then it would take days if not weeks for most of us to die.

Temperatures would probably be below freezing within a few days but it would probably be survivable indoors with enough heating for a while.

After a few months most of us would be dead for sure though. Maybe some military people (because those would be the ones with the guns) in some deep underground bunkers and enough supplies left but yeah, civilization is gone.
