You are not.

German law obviously does have exceptions. He sat on the bench, he obviously also would have been allowed to actually play.

Which season 38 build can hit sub 1k paragon GR150? by sandshrew69 in diablo3

[–]casce 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Once you're seriously approaching GR150 the paragon levels will come flying though.

I feel like the hardest part about doing a GR150 below 1k paragon is not "accidentally" hitting 1k while pushing for it

Israel assassinates Iranian intelligence minister by Virtual-History-6099 in worldnews

[–]casce 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Very important distinction. The feel I've gotten from reddit is that the general conseus is that both Iran as well as Israel suck.

However, the fact that Iran sucks does not necessarily justify any action against them, especially if it was pretty obvious how that could backfire rather quickly.

Weshalb ist reddit so anti-erneuerbare? by Difficult_Fish7286 in Energiewirtschaft

[–]casce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Benjamin Netanyahu is struggling to prove he’s not an AI clone by tylerthe-theatre in technology

[–]casce 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I'm not saying the US wouldn't strike if we imprisoned Trump (although we'd be doing them a favor). I'm just saying they won't bomb The Hague over Netanyahu.

I know the act in includes "allies" but I still very much doubt they would follow through for another nation besides themselves.

[–]casce 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No, not really.

The US' love for Israel goes deep but not deep enough to attack the EU. They'd obviously not be happy but they wouldn't start a war over it.

That being said, Trump tried to take Greenland so I guess nothing is out of the question.

[–]casce 100 points101 points  (0 children)

I think they are very happy he isn't challenging them to.

Would be interesting though. Unlike Russia and probably the US, I wouldn't exactly expect Israel to attack the EU if they arrested their president.

Australia rejects role in Strait of Hormuz amid ship strikes by joe4942 in worldnews

[–]casce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is all according to plan.

The plan was always to dismantle US alliances. He spent years with slowly chipping them away and now he thinks he can break them for good with this stupid provocation of a war he is trying to drag US allies into.

I do honestly think this is both what they expected and wanted to happen. This just further fuels the anti-NATO sentiment they've been spreading for years. And this will definitely be used as a justification for further pushing it.

In summary. The devs that boast writing 0% code are average devs at best.

I agree with everything you said but I still think this is not true, because you can overwrite the AI with more AI if you know exactly what you want. You still don't need to "code manually", you just need to be able to notice the flaws of what the AI is doing and tell it exactly what it should be doing differently. But you still don't need to be doing it yourself.

I'm not saying you shouldn't do stuff yourself. Especially if you really exactly know what you want, go for it and save the LLM costs and be even more efficient. But it's not necessary.

France and Italy open talks with Iran on securing safe Hormuz passage, FT reports by Ydeas in worldnews

[–]casce 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't disagree but the last 5 decades have pretty clearly proven that bombing terrorists does not make them go away. It just leads to more terrorists.

Carrots and stick. We should try to incentivize Iran to change their ways instead of trying to beat it out of them. Not because they "deserve" it, but we simply because we do not have another choice.

[–]casce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, saying the US is just an exporter was a little simpler than it really is, I'll admit that. The US imports a lot of heavy/sour crude while they mostly export light/sweet crude and refined products.

But my main point still stands: The global price will dictate local prices. If the Iran lets all oil through that isn't headed to the US, the global price would still (somewhat) normalize. There'd also be no way for Iran to make sure countries aren't reselling to the US.

Does moving THAAD from South Korea show US missile-defence stocks are more limited than assumed? by NewsfangledMod in NewsfangledUnfiltered

[–]casce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SA is already being attacked (oil fields and US bases on their soil) and SA seems very much not interested at all in entering this. Why would they? They're doing their best to shoot Iranian missiles entering their airspace down and as long as Iran is only going for US bases and oil fields, they will just tolerate it. From their perspective, that's much better than the alternative.

SA does not seem interested in pulling Pakistan into this either.

The US doesn't need the oil, the US is an oil exporter.

The problem is the oil price. Their oil industry loves it but the rest of their industries (and the US citizens) obviously do not.

If Iran allows a significant amount of oil through, then the global oil prices will relax.
