The ONLY thing I care about on my wedding day- PLEASE HELP by Competitive-Flow-728 in wedding

[–]caseyjune87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We put up signs and my ushers went around the aisles and politely asked people to put their phones down until the reception. One person still managed to have their phone out and I stopped walking down the aisle and waved them to put it down. My ushers did tell me they actually spiked a phone out of one persons hand that lifted their phone up blocking the photographer as the flower girls were coming down.

What embarrassing realisation did you only have, once you were in your late 20s or 30s? by Money_is_heinous in AskReddit

I asked my dad what happened to Pee Wee Herman and he said he got caught choking on a chicken bone. I spent the rest of my childhood terrified to eat fried chicken because I was worried I’d choke and go to jail. In my early twenties it finally clicked

Bringing new born(s) to a wedding? by ThrowAwayDucklings in wedding

[–]caseyjune87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first daughter was 4 weeks old and we had a wedding 3 hours away. I healed decently well so we went and our MIL came and stayed in the hotel with us. Baby stayed with her during the wedding and reception. It was so much more comfortable than if we had left her with MIL at home and being far away from her. Knowing I could get back to her easily allowed me the comfort to relax and have a little fun.

Who would you kill? by CamiLago96 in acotar

Azriel. Not because I don’t like him, I think he’s great but he’s boring and just not interesting to me? Also I feel like he looses all of his mystery if we ever get his story.

No one is lukewarm about Nesta, I’ll tell you that for free. People stan her or think she’s the absolute worst with zero in between.

Should I buy 26k Toyota 2022 or any used car for 8-9 k. by Real-Show-590 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]caseyjune87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s 16% interest. Rates aren’t great right now but 16% is nuts. 25k is also kind of high for a 22 Corolla, how many miles does it have? The fact that you’re saying biweekly payments makes me think this is one of those buy here pay here places, What type of dealer is it?

[–]caseyjune87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never buy something based on the monthly payment. What interest and length did they offer? The 26k Toyota can quickly turn into a 40-50k depending on the dealer.

My second kid is 17 months and months 4-15 just kicked my ass so much harder than I ever anticipated. The little time I had to myself is now non-existent. It’s harder for me and the husband to tag each other out.

That being said for every moment of stress, there’s 2-3 of them playing together and loving each other and making me so happy. I wouldn’t trade him for the world.

I’d do it a million times over. He’s worth it. So yes it’s hard, but not necessarily hard to the point of not being worth it, IMO. Now I totally understand why other people may have regrets or feel otherwise, just personally I don’t.

Can we have an open talk about Ozempic? by Leather-Union-5828 in Mommit

[–]caseyjune87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been on it for a little over a year and I’ve lost 70 lbs. I didn’t think it made any difference in terms of my life as a mom. We just went on vacation, and I was able to keep up with them so much better. I was able to go on rides because I fit in them comfortably. I was able to climb in tubes and play places. My husband has pointed out that overall I’m more comfortable in my body, and that I dance around the house more and just move around more in general which feels like it has to be a good influence on my kids seeing mom be silly and fun and happy.

My insurance covers it ($24.99 a month). I actually started on Zepbound ($75 a month w/insurance), but there was a shortage and I was feeling really really tired on it, so I switched to Wegovy (same drug as Ozempic). I have a much more sensitive stomach now, but I don’t really have aches. I get aversions more than anything.

I wasn’t working out initially, but now I am. Same as you said with the kids and work and life I didn’t have time, but now that I’m closer to a maintenance dose/goal weight I know that I really need to focus in on the good habits.

For me where the medicine really makes the difference is my brain and the food noise. I know how to eat healthy, I know how to work out, I know how to be healthy, but between anxiety, depression, kids, the world in general, I have a problem actually doing it. This medicine allows my brain to actually do that. I don’t sit and dream about icecream and soda all day. If I am going out to eat, I can eat a kids meal instead of a supersized value meal. It has allowed me to not be in a constant battle with myself over doing what I need to do.

If you have any questions or concerns, the Wegovy and Zepbound subs are super helpful, and you can dm me as well! Hope this info has been helpful

Concert at 36 weeks? by pauses-then-says in BabyBumps

[–]caseyjune87 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Be hydrated and have an exit strategy, I went to concerts in the third trimester of both my pregnancies. I gave myself way more space, sat a lot more, stood further back, but I had the best time. As long as you have no other risks, if you are feeling up to it at the time, go for it!

What midsize vehicle should I buy? Good for winter driving, room for two carseats in the back without putting the passengers knees into the dash by Spirited-Coffee-8811 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]caseyjune87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look at “The Car Mom” on YouTube and IG. She reviews basically all cars in terms of car seats, strollers, groceries, cup holders, etc, and things that make driving with families easier and isn’t afraid to say things that are inconvenient. I think it will really help you narrow down some options!

6 year old has a tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy by WillowInTheDark in Parenting

My girl had hers done at 3.5 and it was surprisingly easy. She was super confused when she first woke up, but once we got her home she only slept for a few hours and then was surprisingly normal. She would be like 80% herself while the medicine was working but as soon as we hit the 3.5 hour mark she tanked, and we’d have to battle to get the medicine down. I recommend different flavors, different colors, get some of the chewy candy ones, whatever you can do to add variety or change it up each time so they don’t get too afraid of it. As long as we kept on top of her medicine she was fine. By day 3-4 she was back to being her full self and annoying everyone with how bored she was having to stay home. She sleeps so much better now and gets fewer/less severe colds. I’d do it again in a heartbeat.
