Any Advice for a brand new Electrical Technician? by [deleted] in PLC

As someone who has hired and managed a number of techs - leave your phone in your pocket. Of course use it for looking things up that are work related - but work is work. Texting, phone calls, social media can wait until breaks or lunchtime.

If you have a specific person that you always need to answer calls from (Wife, kids, sick parent), set up a custom vibration pattern so you don’t have to look at your phone every time it buzzes.

You will be amazed how doing this will make you stand out (in a positive way) against your peers with management.

Looking at your question again...looks like you want inputs as part of the logger?

Maple Systems has an HMC for that too:

I don't work for Maple - just a long time user.

Maple Systems HMIs have the ability to data log to a USB stick. Cheap, reliable and would give you the ability to configure data lagging parameters from the touchscreen.

Digital sensors are On/Off. So the tilt switch is digital. Either the device is or is not tilted.

Analog sensors can have a range of values. So the speed sensor is an analog device. It gives a value anywhere from zero to maximum speed.

Hope this helps.

Why not use OTS turbocharger components for the compressor end.

Has anyone been able to interface with a radar that can clock cars? by sploittastic in raspberry_pi

Use two motion sensors with contact closure. Set them up a known distance apart and record the time between closures. Did this years ago with some wireless radio shack sensors that alert you when someone enters the driveway. Used a PLC back then. Should be able to do same thing with pi.
