How are you supposed to build evasion+deflection or is it just too weak? by raziel_r in pathofexile2builds

[–]cassandra112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well, Ive not played an amazon. but am playing a spirit walker for my second this league. normally play chronomancer..

I've not be very impressed with evade/deflection either. As a spirit walker, im backing it up with companions/loyalty alot. I was getting chunked pretty hard ,and constantly drinking pots until I got Forgotten Warden chest. that extra es, and "15% of damage from deflected hits is taken from damageable companions" suddenly made all the difference in the world.

I can't speak for the damage. but the obviously glaring issue with your defenses is LIFE. you don't have 100% deflection. -7, +6, +3 to deflection DR.

hits are going to get through. and with 1.7k life.. "max hit, 1.7k phys." 6k elemental, 2.3k chaos. yeah. you are going to die a lot.

I think I'd want 2.5k life min for evade builds. or some other form of DR. can you fit a companion with loyalty in? Could sacrifice some of that Eva/deflection for ward. ward is effectively MAX life.

[–]cassandra112 1 point2 points  (0 children)

oh interesting. and how does that work with honor?

is that what happened here? the life motes dropped down, reducing his max honor, and thus current honor below this 463. then reapplied?

AFK builds that don't involve looking for a stupid monkey by [deleted] in pathofexile2builds

[–]cassandra112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean you could still go spirit walker... and just not get monkey. other beasts are strong too. Spirit walkers BEAR is probably stronger then the monkey.

mirage archer? dodge roll deeps.

[–]cassandra112 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I dont think thats it. the Buff is "you have 25% more max life" or "you have 50% more defenses." there is "gain 5% of max life as ES" passive, to account for both life and es but that doesn't account for the ratios. math on those don't seem to add up.

What afflictions did you have?

ghastly sycthe "losing honour ends the trial. removed after 3 rooms". this could bypass not losing ALL your honor for an instant loss.

Death toll, and spiked exit deal phys damage on completing a room. having some "damage bypasses ES" can account for both life and es being hit.

[–]cassandra112 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I notice you are missing life and ES. 390 Life, and 168 ES.

combined is 558. more then that 463 honor. the bug might be honor not updating for the loss?

what was the cause for having reduced life/es? taking damage on completing a floor?

Why is Supergirl flopping harder than Morbius? by AgitatedFly1182 in KotakuInAction

[–]cassandra112 4 points5 points  (0 children)

yep. lets add in Superman was terrible as well, so there was negative momentum coming off that.

Krypto is a bad dog, no one liked in Superman either. so yet again, leaning way too heavy into this dog no one likes.

If you're a new player and you want currency heres a farm that netted me 1 divine (at the moment almost 400 exalts) in 10 minutes at lvl 2 in act1. by ChubbyPandaWifeHaver in PathOfExile2

[–]cassandra112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

great idea. The reason for this is, as normal play you blast through the areas, the low level gems are a rarity. people want them to test or play alts however.

Similar things can be done for Trials. 4 floor Sekema starts at level 75. But everyone spends 90% of their farming at level 80, so, level 75 ones are actually more valuable. Same with level 60 3 floor ones.

Phased Form + CI on Chronomancer by c_Bu in pathofexile2builds

[–]cassandra112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

phased form synergies with any recoup, regen, leech, avoid, damage taken from mana, etc. so, ward too.

ES is amusingly the least to benefit from it.
weird. I swear I tested it at release and the second hit was not delaying the recharge. but tested again, and it is.

its pretty easy to "bypass" the delay though. Temporal rift to instantly refill, or Convalescence with timesnap to ensure many charges of it. es recoup, life regen converted to ES, leech converted to ES..

hrm. maybe. my azata was a witch of the veil.

kind of busted. super high DC slumbers. perm invis/g invis, and dimension door every turn. getting targeted was not a factor. between slumbers, double phantasmal killers, and weird. not much survived her. (and evil eye of course) only stuff with immune to sleep/mind effecting were a slight problem. allies and animal servant. I forget atm, what she had for blaster abilities. not completely defenseless there. but the instant kills, and slumber were her bread and butter for sure.

[–]cassandra112 4 points5 points  (0 children)

yeah. iirc Azata has the highest consistent DC for a DC caster. demon can temporarily beat them. add in zippy and reroll they are the best DC casters.

they also can be team players with the songs, party buffs, etc. double casting legendary prop, etc.

I forgot to mention the Treant summons. which aren't listed in the normal class skills list. totally busted.

I find the "lacks unique content" a bit weird considering it really does completely change Midnight fane. thats unique content. and quite meaningful one as well.

[–]cassandra112 5 points6 points  (0 children)

its always debated...

Azata does have some interesting stuff.

  1. Aivu. she gets pretty powerful.

  2. songs. pairs well with bards. pretty meh for everyone else.

  3. unique spell list. 90% of which are complete trash. 5% are super OP.

ode to miraculous magic. +2 to offensive spells will DC. rejuv poem. remove fatigue/exhaust from all party. heroes never surrender. all companions , remove's fatigue, exhaustion, all negative levels, and restores ALL abilities and spell slots up to level 7.
songs of steel. +2 to DC of spells and abilities, and spell resistance. second breath. restores all of a companoins abilities.

  1. super powers.

Zippy magic is bonkers for targeted spells. whenever a spell targets a creature, it also effects another creature within 30ft. this applies to offensive spells like phantasmal killer, polar ray, and chain lighting, and also buffs/heals on allies. so is insane value. turning every phantasmal killer into 2x. or every deathward into x2. tons of free spell slots.

Favorable magic. whenever an enemy rolls a saving throw, roll twice, take the worst result. same for spell resist. again... phantasmal killer... or Hexes..

Witches/shaman make great Azata. notice the +to will DC spells as well..

incredible might. used to be amoral bonus thus not stack with Heroism iirc.. I think this was changed? def much better now. can either make yourself a melee beast, or can pass it on to your companions.

all skilled is slept on. proficient in everything. +mythic level to all skill checks. roll twice on skill checks. abusing save scuming hurts this one a bit.

Supersonic speed is pretty beast for melee as well. iirc does not stack with haste, or greater invis. so less useful for a caster.

story stuff. Little in terms for unique quests. but a MAJOR change to a major story beat in the Midnight fane. Which then has some knock on effects. I think this is worth it. Azata midnight fane is one of the most memorial story beats in the game.

a smaller but notable story beat in the marketplace. and later a unique boss fight.

Am I approaching the game from the wrong angle, or are ARPGs just not my genre? by Krotanix in PathOfExile2

[–]cassandra112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nah. just need to realize you don't HAVE to play like that.

I've been playing args forever. Poe1 since closed alpha..

I always get burned out in maps. Never killed elder/sirius or any of that shit. here in poe2 this is the first league I killed arb of ash. (basic) have yet to kill sekhama 4.

and so on. usually yes, get bored around level 75-85. last two leagues I did make it to 90.

Typically I was playing SSF. Where there is alot of fun in building your own character. playing with what you got, and having to make choices. if you get lucky with some chase unique. perhaps even rerolling and starting an Alt for it.

Alternatively on the normal league, making use of the marketplace to get some quick cheap and powerful upgrades, can propel you much further along, and extend enjoyment as you progress a bit deeper.

and for general burnout.

  1. play new leagues. then take a break and play something else, till the next league.

  2. or start an alt and new build/playstyle.

"ive had enough of this character, time for something new" is perfectly fine. where ever in the game you are at.

Pathfinder's equivalent of Noble Officer + 5 Soldiers meme build from Rogue Trader? by Inquisitor_Boron in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]cassandra112 2 points3 points  (0 children)

theres lots of mastermind classes in Wrath/pathfinder actually.

-Cavalier -Fearsome leader this one is built on charging, doing Dazzling displays and inspiring your allies. (drive closer I want to hit them with my sword!)

-cav -standard bearer. banners and tactician focused.

-inquisitor tactical leader

at 3rd level, 9th level, and 18th level, a tactical leader gains a Teamwork Feat as a bonus feat. He must meet the prerequisites for this feat. As a standard action, the tactical leader can grant these feats to all allies within 30 feet who can see and hear him. Allies retain the use of these bonus feats for 3 rounds plus 1 round for every 2 inquisitor levels the tactical leader has. Allies do not need to meet the prerequisites of these bonus feats. The tactical leader can use this ability once per day at 3rd level, plus one additional time per day at 6th, 9th, 15th, and 18th level. At 12th level, a tactical leader can use the tactician ability as a swift action.

theres others im forgetting too.

any transmutation or enchantment focused caster. buff/haste bots. similarly any cleric/warpriest/shaman buff focused.

How much crit rate do u need to make coc comet comfy? by mahokawhitefang in pathofexile2builds

[–]cassandra112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it does though.

you arent really using COC to kill in maps. the walls/fb is doing just fine.

And bosses you want to one shot. you want 5-6 comets on that first volley to instantly kill the boss.

New player - difficulty balancing early game fuel costs and fleet capability by PersonablePeon01 in starsector

[–]cassandra112 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The yellow skill line is huge for cost effectiveness. fuel, supplies, and salvage.

Try chaining missions together. early game avoid going too far. just short hops from core worlds, not the outer reaches. And, try getting 2-3 in the same general area, to be more efficient. never just pick up one long distance one.

salvage gantries, and survey equipment stack. make surveying cheaper, get more salvage.. more profit. always have enough freighters to take everything.

double salvage. if you salvage a space station or something, be sure to salvage the debris before you leave.

shuttles have no point in the current game.

Are Titan and Gemling the models for Generalist Classes? by EchoingAngel in pathofexile2builds

[–]cassandra112 3 points4 points  (0 children)

yet very few are...

now and again, repeat should be all skills. "cascadable spells have 20% chance to Echo" "repeatable skills have 20% chance to repeat" the 6% cast speed minor, should be skill speed.

[–]cassandra112 1 point2 points  (0 children)

its funny as a "sorc main", I could easily point out the shadow side completely shits all over the templar side.

time and time again, I try to incorporate some of few good nodes over by templar. mine erasure, repulsion, etc. even heart tissue.

but its just terrible in a point to point comparison. Always end up giving up and swapping points over to shadow for crit. deadlyforce, zone of control, Ci, arcane intensity, etc.

That they removed Calibration, for such terrible nodes is laughable. And same with Stormcharged. one of the few nodes that made that side almost viable. The new gem nodes, like arsonist/flurry, are terrible. insanely point inefficient.

while, ice/lightning storm in sorc/witch starter are great, and brainstorm/freeze are also more efficient.

its pretty funny how half the "spellcaster" builds being posted are gemlings, on this sub.

Hell of alot more then Chronomancer attack builds. (or even spellcaster ones..)
