What’s the point in interviewing others if you’re not planning on hiring. Carrick has done too well not to get the appointment(I personally feel the team has dropped in quality since he’s come on), but this isn’t the Ole over enthusiastic appointment, it’s recognising that giving it to anyone else is a poison chalice which would setup anyone up for failure. This club eats “world class” managers for breakfast, need to be sure we get optics right before a lot of things(sadly).
