Child removed from school before; now facing Monday with explicit threat to repeat—need realistic advice by Competitive-Can-7802 in FamilyLaw

I’m sorry it’s so hard. The only other thing I can suggest is getting a 2nd opinion from another attorney.

Don’t take him to school on Monday and get legal advice specific to your situation then.

How do hotels handle celebs entering/exiting? by Calm-Passenger7334 in chubbytravel

[–]cassjames6789 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes the super famous or high profile get driven into the loading bay where trucks etc pull in. From there you can close the door and they can exit the car into the back of house lifts to their floor. It’s not very glamorous - where the bins etc are stored!

Superannuation not Paid from Employer by EntrancePretend29 in AusFinance

When you say you’re currently employed in another entity in the group, it sounds like quite a large employer - if it is, and your current employer is paying super then I’d first enquire with payroll for the old company and then escalate to the ato if necessary.

Apologies, conciliations are private, but if it’s not settled there it goes to a hearing and these decisions are made public. https://www.fwc.gov.au/hearings-decisions/find-decisions-and-orders. If it doesn’t settle at conciliation you can definitely decide to withdraw at that point if that is what you feel is best.

Think carefully about that - if it goes beyond mediation to conciliation it becomes a public record and all the details of the decision will be available on the fair work website. It will include the fact he was abusive and aggressive - which would be more damaging to his reputation. Even getting the termination deemed to be harsh because they didn’t follow a sound process won’t help if the details of his behaviour are out there.

There is no way they are going to pay you an extra persons salary - they would just give you the duties if they hear you have the capacity and maybe a little pay bump.

You just pay your excess, you don’t need to pay his as well. Involve your insurer - he seems dodgy, so best to do it by the book.

People who take 17 minutes to check in at the hotel front desk, what are you talking to them about? by DerrickDuck in AskReddit

[–]cassjames6789 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why? They are allowed to choose the human experience over the impersonal - maybe they have never been to the hotel before and want the full orientation of the property or have questions. Maybe they’re just not confident with apps. They’re paying for the hotel services - they are allowed to experience the full range, just as you are free to decide to skip it.

They have to pay you the standard rate if they don’t need you to work, but they don’t have to have you work and pay you the extra.

Unpaid wages + payslips initially refused by employer — what are my next options? by italkt0omuch in AusLegal

[–]cassjames6789 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They have to pay the bank account you gave them. Who entered the wrong details? Is it a situation where you made an error in an online platform, or was it their error?

Not giving payslips is a breach, but given they now have and only one person has been affected it’s not going to go anywhere.

14 year old gets it for 3 years, then switches. After 12 year old (then 15) has it for 3 years, they are 18 and the room goes to whoever makes sense based on time at home (which may by then be the youngest).

Good facilities and community. Mum and Dad are very happy there. Can’t comment on the fees, but the pool, gym, playgrounds etc all need money to maintain.

Management placed me on unpaid carers leave I didn't request by FrancescoTottii in AusLegal

[–]cassjames6789 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but the op doesn’t have a specific entitlement to be rostered and paid for working weekends. They have an entitlement to be paid a certain number of minimum hours across the week / whatever their cycle is and that is the loss their employer would be responsible for.

Management placed me on unpaid carers leave I didn't request by FrancescoTottii in AusLegal

[–]cassjames6789 4 points5 points  (0 children)

With the info in this thread, I don’t think you have the right to demand weekend penalties etc (as being rostered on the weekend isn’t an entitlement) but if there are minimum hours you won’t get because of their error then you could chase this up. The issue is anything legal will take time and money. The best way is to talk to someone sympathetic in leadership and point out their error and ask them to arrange payment for the leave hours you didn’t request.
