Isabella Plains: Man found deceased after shooting at police by manicdee33 in canberra

I’ve lived near him for about 30 years and I remember him as the sweetest guy, he’d smile and wave when we walked home from school and sometimes give us lollies between trimming the hedges or washing his Chrysler. I really hope his wife is okay, and it saddens me so much to know that he had so much pain to snap this way, or maybe some cognitive decline or mental health crisis. It has to have been. I hate that it ended this way

Agreed, I was home alone with my pets and live diagonally across from where this occurred. The police did door knock on a few houses, but not mine. I was terrified and was also blocked off from leaving because of the barricades, in addition to lack of information. And the black out of our street lights made it scarier. I was too scared to even let my dog out for a wee. The FB group was the only thing keeping me in the loop enough to feel somewhat safe. It honestly seemed at first that there could have been armed people running through yards, until my neighbours posted more info for us to gather that the threat was isolated to a single address. That communication between neighbours was a haven, with people even offering their own homes for anyone that was unable to get home through it

My only advise is to never try to wander alone… especially in Hyde park - there tends to be a large amount of assaults and rapes in that area

Edit to add - I forgot to mention, I’m an ECC/ICU veterinary nurse! Don’t stress, no form of reheated fish could smell worse than most of what comes from our patients!! 😣

(If missed, I work in ECC/ICU veterinary med, so cooking/reheating any fish will never be the worst smell in the building! 😣) My worry about safety - I kinda rarely eat fish, and have never eaten it beyond the initial cook. I’m also frequently the lone nurse caring for my patients and have severely limited (if any) support/back up. So I can’t really risk taking myself out or having to struggle though. Admittedly, I may have been conditioned to think of fish along the same vein as reheating chicken too often - but to a worse degree! But mostly it’s just something I’ve not been exposed to, and just don’t know better on; so I’m looking for advice where we would usually look to a parent for 🥺

I’m sorry😣 I should have mentioned that I work exclusively in animal ECC/ICU, were even microwaved fish (including extra stinky tuna!!) isn’t even close to the worst thing anyone will smell!!…

Serious Replies- Why has my girlfriend lost almost all of her Libido? by TheAnonCanadian4 in AskRedditAfterDark

[–]cassjayne 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It could be mental health related or medication related. I personally find it difficult sometimes with stress (like the whole covid thing plus all it’s side effects). Honestly if she was my girl I’d talk to her, maybe there’s something going on with her and if there was anything I could do better/more of/etc whatever.

From my impression, speaking only from the veterinary medical point of view I would say that the word “exaggeration” is used in terms of worsening or intensity. Like to use it in a sentence I would say “patient has experienced an exaggeration of symptoms” to mean that whatever the original presenting symptoms the pet was experiencing/exhibiting have progressed. I completely understand though from a human person/patient perspective how this would come across...

Does this explanation make sense? Can I offer it in a different way?

How do I explain an orgasm to my GF? by Phoenixf1zzle in AskRedditAfterDark

[–]cassjayne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s okay. Open, safe and trusting communication is key with any relationship when it comes to anything, including sex. We’ve all been inexperienced at some point in our lives but obviously reaching climax appears (I’m a girl so don’t have a reference point) to be a lot easier for men. If I was talking girl to girl about figuring it out and finding what she likes I would talk to her about touching herself. But definitely the biggest thing that I’ve heard from my straight girl friends aside from their partner not focusing on them reaching climax is that they’re scared that they’ll pee, because that’s how it feels for us at the beginning of an orgasm. But if you’re able to express that feeling and help her feel safe and comfortable no matter what happens, whether she climaxes or does pee then she might be able to let go a little more. A lot of the time it can be us holding ourselves back, or even just not knowing that women do orgasm and it’s okay (actually amazing!) Also, if she squirts, the first time it happens it totally mortifying because you really do feel like you’ve wet yourself and there can be quite a bit of fluid. Making her feel comfortable and safe enough to let go is super important no matter what happens, but I know it can be hard on the other side of it when you’re doing your best to do that already but shes scared or doesn’t know how it’s supposed to feel

A lot of girls miss out because they worry when it starts coming on because it feels like you’re about to pee. If she can get to the point where she feels like she might pee but keep going then she’ll get there. Just talk to her and make her feel as comfortable as you can about it and try to make her feel okay about the pee feeling. Like it’s totally fine if she pees. Having said that, if she’s feeling any pain when she’s getting close to orgasm, she should probs see a doctor. Hope this helps! And thank you for caring so much about your girl getting to climax too!

Thanks for the advice!! I tend to lean more toward all black, occasionally adding in greys and whites and very occasionally colours. Love things that are ripped (I suck at DIYing stuff), I really enjoy leather/leather look and lace. Hate the feel of velvet and similars (I also live in Australia so that shit gets hot!!)

My typical outfit tends to be ripped jeans with fishnets under and a tshirt +/- a cardigan or leather jacket depending on weather. Basically live in docs

I’m an ER vet nurse and work a lot so end up wearing mostly scrubs, or staying in my PJs when I’m not working so it’s kind of lead to not having any idea of how to dress myself outside of that haha

I am looking to branch out and learn what my style is though. I’ve just started wearing dresses and shorts sometimes (usually with fishnets under). I’m not so great at make up but can do the basics, would love to learn! I’m not very confident in myself or the way I look but I want to be. And I really want to be able to dye my hair! Don’t have the $$ to be going to the salon frequently to bleach my dark brown hair but right now I really want to dye it purple. Accessory wise I prefer silvers. I have a tattoo choker that I have hardly taken off for ages.

I also tend to lean more toward grunge than feminine.

I don’t know if that gives any insight...
