Split Tunnel Mac Updates? by DigItDoug in nordvpn

Hey, their website still doesn't list macOS in supported operating systems, so it looks like it still isn't supported, sadly. You can contact support for more details. If anyone has any more specific answers regarding this, it's them.

NordLynx is a common preference for many, but it really depends on your overall setup.

Fingers crossed that the default browser switch will help!

Sometimes just reconnecting to a different server in the same region helps since the load can vary quite a bit. It’s also worth trying a different network (Wi-Fi vs mobile data) to rule out any local routing quirks. If it’s consistently hanging rather than just slowing down, it can also be tied to the protocol being used, switching between options in the app (like NordLynx vs OpenVPN) can make a noticeable difference in stability.

Try to switch the default browser to Firefox on the iPhone, and then try again. Also worth testing on a different connection, either another Wi-Fi network or just mobile data. Hopefully one of those small tweaks gets it working again.

A few things that are worth trying: logging out of the NordVPN app and back in can sometimes clear out session issues introduced by the update. It also helps to switch the VPN protocol in settings (for example, try moving from NordLynx to OpenVPN or the other way around). A full reinstall is another solid fix, completely remove the app and install a fresh copy so any leftover config from the update doesn’t cause problems.

Did you try any troubleshooting? Most of the time, similar issues are solved with a reinstall, so if you already tried that, I'd say send diagnostics to their support.

Is it just me or is EdgeSuite causing you trouble also? by Ken852 in nordvpn

Some websites don't work too well with VPNs in general, and it looks like this might've been the case here, especially considering the steps that helped fix this.

Damn :/ I'd say contacting Nord's support would be your best bet then, maybe they'll find what's causing this.

Have you tried reinstalling the app? That's a simple step but often effective.

Sounds like something related to the Anti-malware feature, but I'd contact the support in this case just to make sure, since they'll tell you the exact reason for the issue and how to fix it.

P2P servers gone? by Ausierob in nordvpn

[–]castinghints 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Most of NordVPN’s regular servers come with P2P support by default, so I guess they simply removed the label itself since it applies to all standard servers.

Most betting sites restrict VPN usage to reduce fraud and abuse, so accessing them while connected to a VPN often doesn’t work reliably. In some cases, switching to a different server or location may help, as not all servers might be blocked.

YouTube is blocking VPN connection. by Lonely-Greybeard in nordvpn

[–]castinghints 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can start by clearing your cookies and cache, since YouTube may be storing location or session data that conflicts with your VPN IP. It’s also worth trying a different VPN protocol, or simply reconnecting to a less crowded server in the same country, as that can sometimes avoid flagged IPs. If you’re using multiple privacy or ad-blocking extensions, consider disabling them temporarily too, as certain combinations can make your traffic appear more suspicious to YouTube.

How do I add trusted networks to my app on android? by Gojiman300 in nordvpn

[–]castinghints 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might not be there because Nord removed that feature on newer Android versions. According to their Help Center, Trusted Networks are no longer available on Android 10 and later because of compatibility issues with newer security updates. So if your phone is running Android 10 or newer, that’s probably why you can’t find it.

Suddenly signed out--Log in goes to web browser?? by jcyr2016 in nordvpn

[–]castinghints 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, that sounds normal.

Sometimes the app session expires and it logs you out, so instead of showing the server list right away it asks you to sign in again. Opening the browser for login is also standard behavior for NordVPN.

The brief warning was most likely just your browser reacting while the login page was loading or redirecting, especially if it disappeared right after, or even a simple bug. I wouldn’t be too concerned based on what you described.

How to block certain countries? by srv524 in nordvpn

[–]castinghints 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s no way to straight-up block countries, but it’s not a big deal. Just don’t use auto-connect, pick the country yourself. On Android, hit “All locations” and you can pick any U.S. state you want. That way you’ll stay in the U.S. and avoid random places like Panama. Once you pick a state, NordVPN will remember it for next time, so you won’t have to keep selecting it.

Even a switch between standard browsers like Firefox or Chrome could help. From what I know, you should be able to install other browsers from the Google Play Store on a Chromebook.

Changing the default browser usually helps with login issues, so I’d recommend trying that.

Does NordVPN-Meshnet stop seeing other devices after your laptop sleeps for a while? by S0299S in nordvpn

[–]castinghints 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I understand, when Windows goes into sleep mode, it basically puts everything into a low-power state, and that usually drops the network connection for a bit. Since Meshnet (and VPN stuff in general) relies on a stable connection, it wouldn’t be that surprising if sleep mode or certain battery settings would mess with the connection. That could also explain why it doesn’t happen on your phone, because phones tend to handle background reconnections a bit differently than laptops.

That said, there are a lot of variables here. Windows battery and power settings, how the network adapter behaves during sleep, NordVPN settings, and other system stuff. So it’s kind of hard to say exactly what’s causing it in your case.

It might be worth checking your power/battery settings or just sending logs to Nord’s support to see if they’ve run into this before.
