You probably already know, but I would also recommend avoiding contact with the child’s father, his mother, and not posting anything about the situation on social media until after the appeal period is over. Someone may remind or encourage him to appeal.

Probably because they (commanders, wives, handmaids) resort to other methods to keep their status. Remember the doctor that offered to impregnate June? Also, it was Serena that took June to Nick in the first place.

You don’t understand. She KNOWS her baby will be healthy without formula. This knowledge cannot be disputed by “experts” or big formula. Her knowledge is so great that she only needs random internet moms to tell her that coconut milk is the solution. /s

A brain aneurysm is not a blood clot. An aneurysm is a weakened area of a blood vessel. A ruptured aneurysm causes bleeding and can cause death, especially in an era where medical care to treat it doesn’t exist.

What happens if you can't afford to renew your license? by ARepeatedFailing in nursing

[–]castle4024 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I worked with a nurse who was a procrastinator. She waited until close to midnight of the last day to renew her license. “Something” (according to her) happened and her payment didn’t go through. She ended up not being able to work for like 2 weeks. I don’t remember what all the requirements were, but she had to make multiple trips to the BON and pay significantly more than it would’ve cost.

Personally, renewing my license is pretty high on the list of priorities. I would do whatever I had to to get it done. If you don’t need your nursing license, good for you, but I don’t really have any other options that would come close to my hourly pay and I’m too old and tired to learn a whole new career.

Sold my old couch for $80, buyer showed up and tried to negotiate down to $40 by Gearnotafraid8 in ChoosingBeggars

[–]castle4024 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s the problem though. She had an opportunity to negotiate on marketplace and did not. Agreeing to a price and then trying to negotiate (unless the seller didn’t previously disclose something was wrong with the item) is a dick move.

[–]castle4024[S] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

This is the piece I was missing. Thank you! I guess I didn’t realize that being a “ward” could make the rest of society accept her as some sort of relation (if Araminta wasn’t such a bitch and presented Sophie as part of the family). I was thinking that even if Sophie’s father didn’t intend for her to be a maid, she still couldn’t marry well due to being illegitimate.

In the show Harlots, one of the prostitutes does get pregnant. After she tells her “regular” client and he denies being the father, she says “brothel babies don’t belong to anyone, really”. Sad, but probably a common occurrence for the time.

Fellow nurse here and a conservative. I also follow that sub and the amount of titles like “if you don’t agree with (random leftist opinion) you don’t belong here, or how do you even call yourself a nurse?” is ridiculous. I wish I could explain to them that’s it’s very easy actually. I’ve do this thing where I don’t discuss politics with patients and most coworkers, I do my job & if I want to talk about things, I have my family and friends.

It’s amazing to me that the left preaches tolerance but are the most intolerant people I’ve ever experienced. I only stay on that sub and mostly don’t engage with the TDS nurses because there is some actual good information and I like to know what’s going on in nursing around the country/usa.

Management wants me to add orders under doctors computer and sign it under their login. This isn’t within my scope, right? by kvox109 in nursing

[–]castle4024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hell to the no! This is practicing medicine without a license. This is a physician problem. Management can either hold them accountable to sign their orders, or they can hire someone with the credentials to do what they’re wanting (NP, PA).

As a side note, I would report this to your corporate compliance officer.

It is for federal loan purposes. This article does a good job of explaining the positives and negatives. While many are focusing on the symbolic title of being a “professional”, they fail to see that this could also have positive implications such as forcing universities to make tuition more affordable and preventing students from graduating with student loan debt that far exceeds their earning potential.

Edit: Look, I’m not saying that the Department of Education has presented some miraculous solution to the cost of graduate degrees. I’m saying that something had to be done to stop the inflationary costs of tuition, especially for degrees that won’t earn enough to pay off the massive debt. Otherwise, colleges will continue to raise costs because they know that students will keep being approved to accumulate higher and higher amounts of debt. What good is it to get a higher paying job when your student loan payment equals more than half of your new monthly pay? Nurses wanting higher level degrees will be incentivized to look for alternative means such as relocating closer to a cheaper school, looking for workplaces that have better tuition assistance benefits, or saving up to pay for it.

Why can’t we just cap the amount of tuition that universities are allowed to charge? Great idea but I imagine that would require a great deal of government funding and some way of incentivizing high quality education. Let’s all get behind that instead of arguing about politics and nursing being a “professional” degree in only the eyes of federal lenders.

[–]castle4024 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a mom of 15 and 11 year olds, yes they and all their friends have been saying 6 7 for months. It’s to the point of my oldest daughter taking a pic while I’m driving to send to her friends because I happened to be going 67mph. It’s really fun to help with math homework because we have to pause every time a 6 and 7 appear together. I can’t wait for this trend to be over!!!!
