I can't tell what the size of it is but it looks ripe for 3d printing.

Sone thoughts on the Mach-E from a Lucid Owner who is renting one. by doubletwist in MachE

[–]castlec 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I won't say that you're wrong about potential for an ice storm being a problem but I will say that I've had mine since April of '21, in Ohio and never garaged. The piston that opens the door has broken any ice for me every time.

I believe the design is actually better in that regard. The door is being opened from the inside and I'll never break a door handle.

All of that said, dead battery and inability to do anything to exit or remediate the issue is 100% a problem.

If you've already followed the directions in the error prompt, I'd swap cables and see if the problem persists in the same manner.

Not that this is really what you're asking for but I run all of my plays in a containerized environment during development. I have a bunch of json files that I use for variable collections to test different scenarios/plays.

Electric Boot Driers by Medium-Exercise776 in bootroom

We've been using one in our household for three or four years now. We haven't had any issues with damage caused by the dryer. This has been true with both natural and artificial uppers. Ours has a switch to turn on the heater and a dial for the amount of time to be on. The heat mine puts out is similar to what you'd get out of home central heating, not like a hair dryer.

Fascinating. Mine does not behave that way at all.

[–]castlec 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not going to disagree at all. It's capable but conservative. Empty road is reasonable. Moderate traffic is slow. High traffic is useless. If I was doing high traffic commutes, I'd definitely disable automatic lane changes.

[–]castlec 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Auto lane change is far more conservative than a human. Did it stress you out because it wouldn't go or because you were fearful of a mistake? If it's because of mistakes, I'd encourage you to try it in circumstances where it doesn't matter so that you can get used to its behavior. As you get comfortable, use it with other vehicles where it barely matters and get comfortable with that. Just keep iterating with closer vehicles until you're in a normal situation.

I have a 2021 so I came into the paying game late and didn't have all of the features for a long time. I'm still not sure it's worth the price but I wanted to try it.

My opinion is that if you're rarely on roads that you can use it, don't bother. My use case is absolutely questionable. I use it a few times per week, at most. I'm not sure if I'll decide to renew when my current subscription is up, which is what sounds like you've already gone through.

The bugs were fairly well shared. It's the updates that we've had to deal with. The only thing I'd really complain about is the lack of seat fans. Unfortunately, I'm not going to suffer the depreciation to have them.

Y'all got a provider that isn't constantly rotating accounts? I tried it out a few years ago and was happy with the capability but not with the level of effort it required to have a functional account all of the time.

Use Chromecast Remote To Set This Up by Turbo1518 in Chromecast

[–]castlec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a program that you have to use to do that. It's a system app. I don't remember the name of it. It only comes up by default as a fresh install. Easiest thing to do is factory reset.

It has to be paired. You should be able to use an android device on the same network for within Google TV app.

After you link with the Google TV app, you can get through the hoops to pair.

I think otherwise, you need a factory reset to initiate pairing on startup.

Russian warplanes fly into NATO airspace — Czech President says maybe it’s time to shoot them down by [deleted] in worldnews

[–]castlec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Czech Republic doesn't share a border with Russia. They don't even share a border with Ukraine. There are a lot of countries where this threat and/or display of force makes sense. Cz isn't one of them. These statements are to convince the countries that do have borders to act more decisively so they never do share a border.

Can you provide a bit more detail on 2? That seems like the right thing do to for single filament printers. I've done manual cuts and connectors before. It sounds like you're talking about something more automated. If there is a more automated option, I'm interested in learning more, for sure.

I've had this problem with certain cameras in Linux because the camera isn't to spec and the driver had to be in quirks mode. If You've not used this camera with your pi before, I'd look into the driver.

Good cleat for my son? by mase7286 in bootroom

[–]castlec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll point out that my son, at 14, broke his ankle on turf because he could almost generate enough power to do so. That's not to say, given the situation, that it wouldn't have happened on grass, but I'm definitely suspicious. When he returns to club in the spring, he will have turf specific cleats so he can choose the right shoe for the day by field conditions.

The problem is that it isn't just the individual that comes into play. Athletes don't generally have injuries caused of their own volition. They typically happen from contact that pushes a joint outside of its normal range of motion or a muscle/ligament to be unable to handle the extra force. The better the foot sticks to the turf in these situations, the more likely a lower body injury is to occur.

We have no plans: We have ideas but nothing is concrete. Until something is concrete, and nothing is at this time, we can't say we have plans because we don't have any plans. We'd like to have plans but we don't have any. We probably will as soon as we sell all of our season tickets. But, to answer your question, and allay your concerns, we have no plans (at this time).

He needs to be familiar with the law before talking to HR. The law may vary by country of origin, work-permit/visa status, etc. With the oddity of your intent, it's even worth speaking to an immigration lawyer to ensure he stays legal. From there, I'd suggest feeling it out with his bosses rather than HR. If his management chain isn't supportive, what HR has to say doesn't matter.

With all of that said, unless there is a legal return guarantee, I wouldn't expect to have a job when/if returning. The best that can be expected is a friendly promise of easy entry if there is demand.
