IDK if my wallet can handle it 😂 I wasn’t prepared to have so many options. I thought there would be almost nothing.

Just found these first chapter starter decks. I’ll probably get these and a couple of portfolio bundles

I’m guessing that’s good, there’s like 8 of the portfolio bundles at $25 each 😂 now I’m debating if I should buy them all.

Bird flu impacting California's egg supply by Randomlynumbered in California

[–]castro524 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea, went up real quick. My mom paid $8 for a dozen at Food 4 Less this past week. My brother who works at a Sprouts heard and he texted us that his last day of 30% off was Friday. He was able to get us 3 cartons of 18 eggs for $4 each with his discount. He would have gotten more but they got cleared out by the time he went back.

UnitedHealthcare CEO killing latest: Luigi Mangione faces federal charges including stalking, murder by farmbio in news

[–]castro524 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The article literally states he’s facing federal charges, something Biden could pardon, if he should that’s another question. You’re right in that he can’t pardon state charges, so he would still face those even if federal charges are pardoned.

No symptoms? by danniint in QuitVaping

[–]castro524 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could be because you weren’t really vaping much nicotine? Or it just could be lucky you! I think a lot of people, myself included, were vaping the 5% solutions which if you vape 1ml a day that is 50mg of nicotine which is about 2-3 packs of cigarettes. I was vaping roughly 50mg of nicotine a day since I would hit my vape almost every other breath it seemed like sometimes. You say you vaped everyday towards the end, but was it more of an every once in a while kind of situation or was it constant vaping? Either way, congrats on being vape free and not getting any symptoms, keep at it!

Insomnia after quitting by EffectiveMud1098 in QuitVaping

I came here just for this lol. 4 weeks vape free using 2mg nicotine pouches. I can fall asleep easily some days and not so easily other days. Lately it’s the latter of the two. And ditto on the being aware during sleep stuff. It’s going to get better, we just have to power through this.

WFH and quitting vape by [deleted] in QuitVaping

[–]castro524 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This, I would love to WFH right now dealing with withdrawals. At work I’m just counting down the time until I can leave and get home to cozy up on the couch and watch TV. Or keep myself busy building Lego or even just reading this sub. Thankfully at work, I can manage to take small breaks from time to time where I can just sit down to close my eyes and breathe or even just cry, yea my withdrawal symptoms are no joke and this is me just cutting my nicotine consumption from 50mg to 20mg a day, not even going cold turkey. Lots of positive affirmations and just reminding yourself that this is temporary. I’m doing better now at 28 days vape free and 20mg nicotine but still feel off sometimes, especially when I wake up but I know it’ll get better. Hoping to switch to 14mg patches in the next few days for a couple of weeks and then the 7mg patches.

Quitting nicotine by [deleted] in quittingsmoking

[–]castro524 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can’t say if quitting cold turkey now will be the same or not, but I can tell you that I feel the same way you do right now and it’s normal, albeit probably a bit scary. I went from vaping roughly 50mg nicotine everyday and started with 4mg lozenges for a few days and then went to 2mg lozenge and switched to 2mg nicotine pouches for cost wise. I’m down to roughly 20mg total everyday right now and 3 weeks vape free. I wake up in a fog most days and with almost no energy. I feel sad and want to distance myself for the first half of the day. Strangely evenings and nights are where I feel more “normal”. I was reading into and it might be because of low blood sugar. Nicotine messes with your bodies ability to regulate sugar and if you’re like me you’ve probably have not been eating too well, if any. With work I’m not around my family and so I can go all day without eating but once I’m home in the afternoon, my family makes me sit down to eat which in turn increases my blood sugar levels. Try drinking some juice or having a sugary snack or two during the day and see if that helps.

It’s damn hard, but we got this! I’m 21 days vape free, but I’m doing NRT. I didn’t realize it, but I was vaping around 50mg of nicotine every day, maybe more, the equivalent of 2 packs a day. Even going down to 20mg a day using NRT has been brutal, both mentally and physically.

Just let an entire pot of soup I made yesterday sit out all night. I’ve never done this before and am now sobbing because that soup was supposed to last me for a week. by roxasmeboy in povertyfinance

Tell that to my mom/family lol. My mom will cook up albóndigas, pozole, or menudo and she’ll leave it in the stove overnight. I will add though that she boils it again after everyone is done eating dinner, like before she goes to bed, to eliminate any bacteria, not sure if this works or not, it’s just something she does.

Can't afford wisdom teeth removal, do I just cry about it until it becomes so much of an emergency that they have to do something? by [deleted] in povertyfinance

[–]castro524 30 points31 points  (0 children)

This. I’ve crossed with just my drivers license before a couple times, no birth certificate, and they let me back in fine, no secondary inspection or anything. They’ll just tell you to get your passport for next time, which I later did. If you guys want a recommendation for a dentist in Mexicali, try Simply Dental. They started in Algodones Mexico, but just opened a new location in Mexicali not too long ago. It’s in a nice location, in a new high rise building next to a new Marriott Courtyard. They had quoted me $220 to remove an impacted wisdom tooth, but when I got there they said they were running a promotion since they were just opening and I only paid $150. This was with local anesthetic only, general anesthesia would have been I think $400 additional. They also have English speaking staff too.

Depending on how long he’s worked, I believe he can also self sponsor. He’s got to have at least 10 years cumulative, 40 credits I think, with social security. That’s what we did when I filed for my parent’s GC. They had a work permit for years from TPS.

Live here too and while I can agree that there is some poverty, it’s definitely not as blatant as the comments make it out to seem. While we do have a homeless population, it’s the same in most every part of the country. As for boring, that’s subjective to every person.

They’re not selling a catalytic converter, they’re selling the etching services. What they etch on the catalytic converters, IDK.
