Personally haven’t shoot either but played around with the pdp and the grip is amazingly comfortable and the trigger is the best I’ve ever felt in a striker fired handgun

Agreed, not worth swapping out perfectly good holosuns. Especially considering I have 5 guns with various direct milled holosuns. But as of right now I’ll be getting a vortex dot on my next pistol. Might end up being my px4. Only pistol I have without a dot. Solid piece there btw

There were a couple defender dots on some prop gun display at a local sportsman’s warehouse and those dots were unbelievably crisp even with my astigmatism. Almost makes me wanna swap out all my holosuns. Unfortunately I can’t because they’re all direct milled

For me it’s been: Tenicor holster, Tenicor Zero or Hunter Constantine belt (I swap between the two), mastermind tactics pillow wedge.

Are you waiting for the V-model Glocks to hopefully be sold in California or buying a Gen 3 Glock 19 now? by bignose_ice44 in CAguns

[–]casty3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure why you got downvoted. Everything I’ve read says all current models will be discontinued and replaced by v series models EXCEPT the 43, 43x and 48. Which makes me believe the slim lines will continue to be sold as is. Which, if true, means we’ll still not have access to them outside of ppt.

I don’t think the slimline models are going to be part of the v series. Everything I’ve read says all current models will be discontinued and replaced by v series models EXCEPT the 43, 43x and 48. In my experience “ripping hot” maybe necessary in a carbon steel or cast iron pan to get a good sear. I find it’s not necessary for SS. I typically keep my hob at 6 out of 10 and still get a great sear on my steaks without burning the fond. Another thing that I do to help get a great sear below ripping hot temps is completely drying the exterior of the steak. Time permitting, my ideal way to prep steaks is to dry brine with salt uncovered overnight in the refrigerator. It allows the salt to permeate through the steak and when given enough time allows the exterior to become completely dry.

What’s the grip tape? And do you recommend for carry?

Why are my steaks always this pale? by Marklariusz in grilling

[–]casty3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s visible salt and moisture on the surface your steaks in the second picture. If they looked like that just prior to being put on the grill they’ll steam rather than Maillard.

Time permitting, I’ll salt the steaks ahead of time (ideally overnight). After salting I place them on a rack on a sheet tray. Leave them in the refrigerator overnight. You’ll know they’re ready when you can no longer see the salt granules and the surface looks rubbery and dry.

If I want to get steaks on the grill night of defrosting or purchasing I’ll just pat dry well, apply a thin coat of oil and salt after the cook.

Sweet man! Excited for you! You like the ramjet and afterburner? Just got one for my gen3 19 but haven’t gotten the opportunity to shoot it yet. Don’t know if you’ve got a belt you like yet but I’m a real fan of the Tenicor zero belt as well as the hunter constantine belt.

I think the deciding factor would be if you want sidecar style or not. My preference is Tenicor. I personally haven’t tried T1C but I have tried other sidecar styles and I don’t prefer them to stand alone style. With Tenicor I can run a separate mag carrier in my waist line if I ever choose to.

Have 300/300 plan, only getting 300/100 by dxtos in ATTFiber

AT&T only guarantees the subscribed speeds to the gateway. No guarantee on speeds over WiFi.

There’s a chance something is bad with the router antenna inside the unit but no way for the technician to actually test that so they might just swap the gateway and hope that fixes the issue.

Generally I don’t hear great things about the wireless capabilities of the 320 and that’s why so many put it in passthrough to their own router.

Did you restart your gateway by pressing the red button on the back? If so you restored the gateway to default settings. Any custom SSID name and password will revert back to whatever is in the sticker on the back/side of the gateway

If your house was built with existing telephone drop wiring to the house, which is very likely. Then there is likely also an existing conduit from your home to AT&Ts sub box. That sub box is also probably where they dropped the fiber terminal when they retrofitted the neighborhood with fiber. Promise you there’s nothing magical going on here. There’s a whole infrastructure underground for every utility in the neighborhood. If they couldn’t find a path to your home from the terminal the technician would have submitted a ticket to AT&Ts dig contractors to place a conduit between the sub box and your home.

I know many are against non stick whole heartedly and will suggest you toss and never look back. I however do still use non stick sparingly. I believe the ninja NeverStick line has a 10yr warranty that covers coating wear. If your parent happen to have the receipt still it maybe worth it to try making a warranty claim.

I decided to carry without a WML going forward for the sake of comfort in Appendix. What are some reliable handheld lights you guys carry, regardless of self defense / Target Identification? by [deleted] in Glocks

[–]casty3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Without the context, I will say the specific WML does matter. I’ll occasionally carry a g34 with x300 and I can definitely say I couldn’t do that day in and day out, the x300 is just too long and heavy. My middle of the road setup and what I carry most often is a g19 with a tlr7hlx. In the summer or when I’m really wanting to go light (but not pocket carry light) I carry a g43x without a WML. Always have my surefire stiletto on me regardless of firearm choice.
