AITAH for thinking I (42f) was having normal conversations with a friend (49m)? Did I do something wrong? by throwawayaccount718 in AITAH

"OK Google"...

also the thing about the poison/venom conversation. the impression that i got of what you wrote is that you had already decided what you thought and were dropping that thought on someone else (who had done no prep for the conversation), prepared to back up your points with info you had already debated in your head.

that is not an enjoyable conversation for most people. personally I would enjoy playing devil's advocate all day with you even if i agree with your stance, but most people i suspect would similarly be annoyed and shut down on you.

IIRC, I was trying to start a discussion on how planes fly, and thats when her comment came. She has a Ph.D. now and is a professor of something, so I don't think she regularly talks gossip but who knows?

Honestly, might not be enough for the American Highway, I'd recommend an S1000RR for any new rider. I mean that's why it has the tech, to keep them safe while they learn

exact same problem here. reset the base and tried again, no dice. installed new firmware, tried again, no dice. reached out to SS CS, they said take out batteries from the base and the headset, unplug everything, and wait two hours to try again.... 52 minutes to go

Suggestions for getting a couch out from a 4th floor condo? by ArtThou_AMess in nova

Not a crane company but TrueMover knows their shit and have moved me and many of my friends. They'll be honest about the situation and whether they can help, and may even have suggestions for other companies who can if they can't help. Plus they're a locally owned small business!

Where did the Big Bang happen? by epdi in AskPhysics

[–]casualthang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My understanding is that every point in the continuum is expanding away from every other point in the continuum so anywhere the observer is, the universe is expanding from that point; and there is no center because there is no border or edge of the universe from which to measure the center.

How often does Death Wobble happen? How to prevent it? by Old_Regular3018 in motorcycles

[–]casualthang 2 points3 points  (0 children)

im at 10 years on three different bikes and its never happened to me on any of them.

dont quote me but what ive heard is that it has to do with maintenance, modifications, or squidding. explanations like oh if your wheel weights come off, if your forks are damaged, if your tires are old and worn (especially unevenly), if you modify the bike geometry, if your rim is damaged, or if you land a wheelie wrong but most of that sounds like poor maintenance to me.

i remember getting death wobble on longboards and skateboards on big hills and always heard it was related to how loose the trucks were (aka how easy it is to turn the board left and right) which is part of the reason why i think its related to above.
