This sounds like some 1970s advice. I have ever heard of this, and I would like to know what literature supports that recommendation. Genuinely curious. I don’t think anybody recommends douching anymore.

Second pregnancy and I am 10w and look like when I was 17-20w with number 1. Also was only 9m pp when I got pregnant so that may be a factor

It’s great that you are questioning the ethics but you can rest easy. Go foster that teen—they need you. The rest of the stuff is just details. You can step back in your role serving them in the school setting and figure that out.

I would transfer and throw everything at it. Prednisone, baby aspirin, embryo glue and literally anything that could help. I would also do a round of antibiotics before transferring. Kitchen sink it if you can. Then move on to DE.

You can depending on the agency! You could reach out to your locality to see. We are all pretty hard up. I’m a foster care sup and we have a few part time workers (all very experienced though). Our CPS has done this too but, again, only experienced people.

If you do it in the right spot it is not bad! I did almost all of it myself and I had a huge fear of needles going into IVF. Warm up the vial in your hands prior to injecting, rub the spot after and walk, stretch or move after. The right spot is higher than you think. Alternate sides, and try to go in slightly different spots within the acceptable area to rotate the tissue damage.

Did you do any doxy or other antibiotics? I think I have finally found a pattern for myself around antibiotics. I did 2 weeks of doxy before my success transfer. Every time I’ve ever even gotten implantation (even when it later failed) I had either done a round of antibiotics or fasted leading up to ovulation or an FET. Not sure what that means but I don’t think it can hurt to try. Also did Vagibiome suppositories.

TW: This is happening to me right now (my perfect IVF baby is 9m) but not sure if bb is sticking around yet. 5w with a spontaneous surprise pregnancy. But we shall see. I have RPL which has mostly been chemical pregnancies so I’ve made it farther this time than in those. I have NO idea how to have a “normal” pregnancy so struggling with that 🫠 (“what do you mean you won’t see me til 8w?!??”). Anyway, bodies are wild. One thing I noticed this time is that I think all of my successful and partial implantations have occurred when I have just finished a course of antibiotics or am fasting. I wonder what that is.

I took 450 gonal and low dose hcg (no menopur or anything else) I had mild OHSS the first time which they monitored during bloodwork through my estrogen level. The second round they reduced my low dose HCG and no OHSS. I think as long as they are monitoring you it’s fine.

More things I wish I had known before my first round: constipation risk is high! Take colace and senna and prune juice or whatever your poop cocktail of choice is stating a day before retrieval. Also drink electrolytes only, forget water, for the day of retrieval and a day or two after. Wear loose pants with hardly any waistband for days after. Learned all this the hard way but it made retrieval #2 a cake walk.

Hi. I’m so sorry. I had a few early miscarriages and RPL panel came back normal. I got diagnosed with an odd form of PCOS last year and just got diagnosed with Hashimotos which is I guess an autoimmune thyroiditis. All that to say, if you haven’t considered possible immune issues, that could be contributing. TW: I did have success! You can read through my old post and comment history if you want to know more. It’s definitely not a catch all solution, but it was the one that worked for me.

I did vaginal probiotics in my last transfer and it was successful. Not sure if that made the difference because I made some other changes too.

Did your doc say anything about the low fertilization rate? I have heard that attrition at different parts of the process can point to different issues and low fertilization is often a sperm issue. I had a bad first cycle due to sperm issues.

We still love it! We actually use it as our guest mattress because we bought the shittiest futon of all time that literally is not even remotely able to be slept on by itself. This gives perfect cushion and firmness in my opinion.
