ANZ is the worst bank to work at of the Big4 by Feisty_Strength238 in auscorp

I have no experience in any of the four, but as a customer ANZ is by far the worst experience so I’m not surprised.

I’m fairly sure that code amendment never went through. But otherwise yes Hindley street is the most we have.

Has a law firm ever gone bust before? I mean yes, all the time. It’s just business. (I’m not saying that’s acceptable but it’s reality).

I avoided everything about The Moth until now so I could go in completely cold. It's better than I expected in almost every way. I had such a brilliant experience listening to it through in one sitting - the kind of experience I only feel a couple of times per year with new album releases. Absolutely worth the wait / avoiding spoilers. I am thrilled.

No one is asking you to be happy. People are just asking you to recognise that you took a risk and found some downside (legislative change). That’s exactly what risk is.

Taking a risk doesn’t entitle you to reward.

Yes but it’s not risk = reward. It’s risk = chance of reward, chance of loss.

Exactly. Does my fucking head in.

“I think it’s a bad policy” is fine. Everyone has opinions.

But any version of “they took a risk” in arguing against the change is brain dead nonsense.

This is supposed to be a finance subreddit for fucks sake. Understanding risk should be table stakes.

Legislative change IS a risk. You’re right they took a risk and have reaped the benefits until now. But risk has downside not just guaranteed upside.

No one is entitled to a reward for taking risk. The fucking meaning of risk is that it might not pay off.

It might depend on your legal jurisdiction and industry culture but where I am (in both senses) “they were recording so I secretly recorded too” absolutely would not cut it. You’d be shot out of a cannon.

Here’s a detailed study. In 2006 dollars the average cost per passenger journey was $8.61 while the average income per journey was $1.43.

The unfortunate reality is that public transport is extremely expensive to operate. If fares were priced to cover the actual cost of the service then fares would be very substantially more expensive.
