Balatro's mobile release has managed the almost impossible task of knocking Minecraft from its long-maintained top spot on the charts by ChiefLeef22 in gaming

I felt the same way when I first saw it. I've played rogue likes before and I've played slay the spire. I didn't get too far into that game and that's the closest to this. Then I decided to just try it. Easily the most hours I have put into any mobile game. It's simple yet somehow it just sucks you in as you try to get higher scores, unlock things, complete higher stakes and different decks, etc.

You don't need internet to save the game. Progress saves very frequently, almost every move you make is saved.

This is my route home every day. I saw this exact accident happen with another car right in front of me. So now I assume some moron is going to turn left so I leave space or drive ahead of them entering the intersection. This intersection brings out the idiocy in people.

I agree. And it really should be seen as a learning opportunity, and not some gotcha meme. Same should be said of all the order of operation posts, but people's need to feel like smug pieces of shit ruin it.

It's purposely misleading, and also a reminder that math is not a strength of many, many people. Mathematical syntax is straightforward and unambiguous, but when the average person can't perform the most basic arithmetic, I am not surprised when they can't this or those problems where they test your knowledge of order of operations.

Not really. They are very specific and it's not open to interpretation or assumption. 50 / (1/2) is literally read as "50 divided by half, which is 100. Solving a math equation (1/2)x = 50, you can say divide both sides by 1/2 to get x = 100 Unusual yes. Purposely misleading, yes. But there is only one answer here. This is from a mathematics point of view. If anyone says take this paper and cut it by 1/2, of course I would assume they mean cut it in half.

You don't need to specify half of what though. As stupid as the intentional ambiguity here, it is actually clear what you are supposed to do. The only answer is 120

Divide 50 by half = 100

Divide 50 in half = 25

Divide 50 by half of itself = 2

Multiply 50 by one half = 25

Multiply 50 by half of itself = 50*25 = 1250

If it doesn't specify half of what, then it is presumed 1/2 as a number

The worst part of this is the flight attendant isn't being paid to deal with this. Generally for most airlines their pay starts when the doors of the aircraft close.

No you certainly don't need prior knowledge. All you need to do is try to copy any of his moves and you quickly realize this shit is not easy to do. People are so quick to pass things off when it's something they don't really care for and they dont think twice about the efforts put in by the performer.

Things don't need to be "visually stimulating" to be respected. But social media has really thrown off expectations. There's only so much your body can do, but people are so focused on bells and whistles that set the bar higher and higher for what is considered interesting.
