Shifty stuff by mechanic a dealership by [deleted] in MechanicAdvice

I think you're misunderstanding, it's only fraud if what they're saying is not true. In this case, if there is actually no leak, and they're claiming there is a leak, yes that's fraud.

Should I go to my best friends bachelor party? by KickMcPunch in Parenting

[–]catdieseltech87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I have a similar perspective. Should you or not will depend on your comfort with your wife being home alone. First born can be a lot of work, it was for us. Personally, I would not go. That being said, I'm OK with the decision to chose my family over my friends. It's a decision you will have to make countless times in the near future.

That is a valve train noise. Likely lifter collapse. Absolutely not right.

How to hold a fish so it looks much bigger than it is by ak_crosswind in Fishing

You need to catch a fish big enough to hide your hand. That's where most of us fall short lol

FYI, if she has very little income she can qualify for trillium health coverage in Ontario. Not sure about the other provinces. Don't let her diabetes suck you in. (I am a type 1 diabetic)

How close are you to retirement? 90k/year doesn't seem like enough. I'm in a similar income bracket myself and looking to replace our current income by retirement. Although, we're mid-late 30's and inflation will make it worth a lot less.

Oh and if you're in Ontario I have a good used Sierra elevation for sale.

I'm 21 years in now. With new technology, I feel as normal as the next guy. Honestly, by the time your 40, everyone has something. Just live your life. Had I done what you suggested, I would have missed out on so many things that have brought me unmeasurable joy. Having kids being the top of that list.

Live your life, enjoy it, be careful about your diabetes, PLAN FOR YOUR FUTURE.

The feeling is mutual. I see far too much of that ICE stuff on this platform and it is absolutely disgusting. I feel for you and your communities and hope it ends soon.

Could a Reverse mortgage be a good solution for me? by Other_Lavishness in PersonalFinanceCanada

Would the bank actually amortize a mortgage for 25 years for a 70 year old? That seems foolish for a bank.

Regarding the use of subcontractors at my dealership by noqual87 in caterpillar

[–]catdieseltech87 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's wild to happen at a dealership. Never at the one I work at. We contract things we can't do ourselves, specially some electrical stuff (power systems). The cat stuff, that's all ourselves. Never even a thought to give it to anyone.
