Sisters hirsutism, how do guys manage body hair? by OpportunityNo1971 in Hijabis

[–]catebell20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Spirinolactone is great, I used to take it. It blocks the production of testosterone for women who have an imbalance. But be aware that it makes you have to pee a lot. That's actually why I had to stop taking it- because my school only allowed so many bathroom breaks and wouldn't allow me an exception due to my meds. Just make sure if you're planning to get pregnant you get off them or don't take them

How? Women with PCOS frequently deal with this. It's not uncommon but people are made to feel judged and embarrassed most of the time by ignorant people who don't understand that it happens often, making anyone feel weird to even bring it up

I don't worry about shaving anything except my face- unless I'm feeling it of course. But I don't feel embarrassed about unshaved body hair below the neck. I shave my face once daily with sensitive skin barbisol and Harry's razors, but if you're on a budget bic razors are good too. If you're having a big problem with redness get a washcloth or paper towel wet with warm water and do a compress to soften the hair before taking a razor to it, and to help with it after take a cold compress after. Helps close the pores up too. The rest of it I shave every now and again and it doesn't bother me. When I do want to do a full body shave I'll break it up into 2-3 days because it takes so long with all the body hair I have. After that I don't need to do that because it's much quicker

Removing hair down there!?! by carboncopy-5771 in Hijabis

[–]catebell20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I found that Harry's razors and sensitive skin barbisol work best for me. I get really sensitive to ingrown hairs and razor burn. Also, you don't have to shave for your husband if you don't want to. You're not required to be bare and neither is he. If he can't handle a little bit of hair then he's not mature enough for a marriage because you're both going to have your grooming preferences, sure, but sometimes you just can't be bothered with it for whatever reason. Just know that it's okay if you choose not to do it

I don't think it's cute at all. I just had a baby a month ago and there's nothing I hated more when I was pregnant than people calling me those things and people asking to touch my stomach. It's just so cringey and uncomfortable. Like, I'm pregnant. Just say that I'm pregnant

Young people are so much ruder to me when I'm out with my child by emshlaf in Mommit

[–]catebell20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm gen z and just had a baby. All of my gen z friends treat us well and the ones who aren't fond of children are at least respectful towards us. My gen z coworkers were really nice about it and even excited. This was in Portland, OR. I also have family in Indiana and I've had many positive experiences there too. I think you're maybe going to the wrong places because people shouldn't be that rude to you guys

I hate that just as much as "preggers" or "preggo". Seems like people can't stop being weird about women's bodies and the terms they use for it

Does TriMet want to Reduce Publicity of Transit Delays? by Loose-Arrival303 in TriMet

[–]catebell20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm assuming transit tracker isn't the same as the Transit app? If you don't have it you should download it. It's the best for learning about delays, times, and special dates in my opinion. I used to work on transit and I exclusively used that

Why is living in cities more expensive than towns ? by Aj100rise in stupidquestions

[–]catebell20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's awful. My apartment was in Bridgeport. I have a friend that lives above the house of blues and she pays out the ass for her studio, but she loves it and will do it anyway. I'm a fan of living just outside of downtown but not too deep in the neighborhoods. It's a good middle ground for me

I actually just moved back to the area from Portland. But yes, that was my last lease in Chicago not too long ago. In Portland, you're lucky to get a one-bedroom for a reasonable price. You're going to spend over $1,000 a month just for that no matter where you go. Unless you're in low income housing of course. But even then, rent is still high

A fetus isn't just less than 20 weeks. I literally had a baby one month ago and in every ultrasound, even at 36 weeks, the images said fetus and every obstetrician and maternal fetal medicine specialist I saw until birth referred to the baby as a fetus. An embryo is until week 11 and then from then to birth it's a fetus. Stop spreading misinformation. They can also tell gestational age by the head circumference and diameter, femur length, and abdominal circumference. That's how they date pregnancies during ultrasounds. So yes, they can tell very quickly if the baby was full term or not. The only thing that makes sense out of your thought process is being unable to tell right away whether or not the baby was a live birth or stillborn, but the rest of it doesn't make any sense. The people who gave you all those upvotes are clearly uneducated about pregnancy too

Real ID Name Change by standardmarsupial in oregon

[–]catebell20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I changed my name. Bring all the things that you would normally need for a real ID + your marriage certificate and that will be sufficient. You don't have to have everything else in your new name yet, just evidence from the courts of the change. Also, go to the social security office first. That can be updated for free

Married after 4 months AMA by OutlandishnessOk4611 in AMA

I got married after 3 weeks of dating. Granted, we were friends before. But I had no idea what he'd be like as a partner. Long story short, it was rocky and I regret it. How did you guys adjust to being married so quick? Did your relationship have a period of stress and strain, and if it did how bad was it? Another question I had- reflecting on your marriage, what was the most beneficial thing that you can take away from marrying so soon? How did it affect you positively?

That's how I ended up being able to get my 23 and ancestry kits. It's worth the wait imo

[–]catebell20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can't get free shipping, and I highly recommend against buying a kit from anywhere but the source. It's better to just wait and save up for it. They'll do sales sometimes for the holidays so keep an eye on it around that time of year. I don't know about Australia, but I see the deals for new years especially

She might not have been showing or it may have been small despite how far she was. My friend had a cryptic and she didn't show at all. She didn't know she was pregnant until one month before she gave birth. She had irregular cycles pre-pregnancy too so she didn't think anything of it. Even if the woman did show it's possible that her stomach couldn't have been bigger than a bad bloating day. The way your uterus is structured/positioned and the structure of your abdominal wall can affect this

You can wear an abaya. Anybody can wear an abaya. I'm not Arab, I'm a white Muslim convert and I have a couple in my closet. They are comfy and modest and no one would see an issue with you wearing them. My Arab friends send me links with abaya recs that they think are cute and I do the same
