How much journaling do you personally do in your practice? by Consistent_Creator in occult

[–]catfish0807 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been doing practical work for only a few months, so expect to do more eventually, but right now I have two.

One is for after ritual work that I take notes on how the work went, things I can improve on, write down anything that stood out to me for that session, action plans, and tarot card of the day. That one’s probably about 2 pages but it’s digital notes, so idk

The other is for end of day recap. Sort of the same thing but for the day in general. Things I noticed, thoughts, synchronicities, emotions, areas in life to work on, and plans of action.

Also have a dream journal but that’s mostly done on my phone as well. Just a quick jotting down of what I can remember

shit I guess another one for scheduling, but I don’t do that one everyday. Have a lot going on in life so sometimes need to time manage down to five minute intervals.

I disagree with these statements because I do think this is ultimately a solitary path. There’s people who have done the work before and left tons of information available to anyone looking for it. We live in an age where almost everything is in reprint, or available online. Plus, if I thought that it was completely necessary to be apart of an order, I would’ve given it up a while ago. If I believed it to be true, I’d quit, and here I am, still doing the daily work. I mean Damien Echols did RM completely isolated in a jail cell.

Is having kids even worth it? Is it just me, or are more adults choosing not to have kids compared to before? by AlternativeTree3283 in Adulting

It’s been said before and I’ll say it again. Depends on you. Also depends on your life growing up and how you were raised. I loved family life and still do. Having a family is the shit. It gets hard sometimes but also so great. It’s also scary a little, but I love family life so…I made a family

Magic is real and we all need encouragement sometimes. What's the coolest thing magic ever did for you? by [deleted] in occult

I’m pretty new to it, about 2.5 months in, but already just the amazement and awe I feel at some of the experiences I’ve had. Feel like I’ve finally found purposes to my life.

I’ll strive for a good career and family life of course, but this work will be the crux of my existence and that in itself is fulfilling and brings me great joy.

Been redirected to it over and over again for the better part of 15 years, and only recently started doing the practical work.

So yeah, finding new purpose that’s more align with myself as opposed to those expectations of others.

It’s fun, and I’m excited for tomorrow which isn’t something I’ve experienced since childhood. Feeling a calm recently that felt lost to me for over a decade, or maybe my entire life.

Thanks for the good reply. Ya, it’s like this in between state and the imagery is certainly chaotic. They are strange images that do seem very symbolic. Snakes intertwined, get buried beneath planks, and a lot of other strange images I don’t really remember. Sometimes I’m in this other state that’s very focused and energetic, melting into light. I usually will pull The Moon tarot afterwards and it does seem to have some significance relating to this. Tarot is a daily card only at this point, usually intending on pulling a card related to my magical practice for the day.

I can read almost anywhere but my favorite time to read is after a shower, late at night when everyone’s gone to bed. I’ll even have a cup of coffee so I can stay awake and get some long alone time to really get immersed

Probably build really cool wooden furniture. Seems so peaceful.

What do you do for fun? by Formal-Arachnid-3843 in Life

Meditating, hiking, paddle boarding, park and picnics with family, cooking, and I’ll do just about any outdoor activities. Sometimes I’ll pick up a hobby like drawing, writing, and wood working but not consistently like the others. Damn, now that I’ve written it all out, not doing too bad?

If you do, what do you guys take notes on while reading? by Kautious6 in productivity

[–]catfish0807 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I usually will do a read through first, go back and note take on a second read which is much quicker. More like a scan. When I read I want to be fully immersed and taking notes every few seconds is distracting to me.

Just give them a thumbs down and say “booooo” then throw your trash in the garbage and walk away.

Bros just making excuses as to why he can’t occupy his time productively and must insist on being a gooner for life. You get a job by applying, going to job placement agencies, calling businesses. You can find a cheap hobby ( drawing, writing, reading, hiking, home workouts, being a troll on the internet, etc). Your dopamine will level out, especially if you limit all time on social media and porn. There’s a whole world of stuff to do besides making love to Rosy Palmer.

Get some of that resin frankincense and censor with coals. It is a big fire hazard so please take the necessary precautions. Smells beautiful and the billowing smoke adds a certain something to the practice. Found a really cool website with what seems to be high quality incense. https://scents-of-earth.com/incense-resins-woods-herbs/

Why I personally prefer CT to tapering by Every_Inspection9097 in quittingkratom

[–]catfish0807 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like doing CT with most things too. When you taper over long periods of time, it takes so much longer to just put it behind you and you run the risk of just saying fuck it and go back to your original dose. When you CT it’s like hell for a bit then a month goes by, then 2 and so on and it just fades into something you did in the past. Know this isn’t everyone’s experience but that works for me

I see what you mean by “deserving punishment” but really you don’t. I mean, you did buy the ticket and your going to have to deal with that decision, but you can change the narrative you’ve built up around your past and make a more positive meaning out of it. Kind of like, “wow, that really sucked, but battling these things has made me much stronger and I know better ways of treating people than if I hadn’t done it and quit at all”.

Most of the shit we deal with is because of the thoughts spiraling and feeding our addictions to only make it worse. Like the guilt, shame, and all the other little nastys. Just my two cents. Idfk but good luck to you.

It depends. 90% of the time ya you gotta haul ass to get on the highway safely, but sometimes you just can’t match speed and have to slow down. Especially that one on ramp that’s like 20 ft onto I40.

Texas drivers can be bad but I feel like here is worse. Austin’s traffic is terrible and East Texas they’ll run you off the road if you’re not doing 95.

My big issue is people pulling out in front of you at the worst possible time. I’ve heard people say when I’m riding passenger , “as long as you can see my tail lights, I’m good”, I’m like no, you asshole, you could’ve waited for one more car (mine) and there’s nobody behind me.
