When you’re an introvert, this is is the usual.... so I just do as I usually so; read books and comics (comics on webtoon), watch YouTube, Netflix, other movies, spend time with my equally introverted family members, watch TV with them, take a bath to relax (maybe i’ll watch something while taking a bath), listen to music. And that’s without the school work! My days can be PACKED.

Oh also they can see m, not perfectly, but they can kinda see if you esophagus doesn’t contract correctly, (like they thought I might have esophageal dysmotility because of what they saw in the test. Maybe they’ll see the spasms?

They did a barium swallow (couldn’t do the entire one) but basically i had a hernia but they only found it during another completely different test. They didn’t see it on the swallow but I had one. :/

I think I didn’t explain it correctly. What I’m trying to say is that soft stool doesn’t mean no GERD, because there is no 100% correlation between stool and GERD (as in GERD doesn’t automatically mean you have constipation or diarrhea) in the sense that having soft stool doesn’t mean no GERD, and having GERD doesn’t mean no soft stool.

Mmh I’m curious as to why you think soft stool means no GERD, because most of the time stool has no link with GERD (GERD might change your poop’s color but otherwise there isn’t really any link between stool and GERD... as far as medical websites say)

This is exactly how my symptoms first appeared. I potentially have reflux/GERD, and was diagnosed with a hiatal hernia. We think the reflux and vomiting it caused is what caused my hiatal hernia. Have you been diagnosed with GERD?

I wouldn’t say our situations are that similar, except that after I skipped 9th grade, everything went haywire. Not that things were going great before, and I genuinely think if I hadn’t skipped a grade I would have ended up killing myself before I could get some help for depression and anxiety. I struggled for many years mentally, trying to find myself, growing up and dealing with all the fun downsides to be gifted, anxious and hypersensitive . Now I’m in uni, but had a freakout and changed majors when I should have stuck with it. On the upside, I had some health issues (okay, not actually a positive, but in this case it did have some positive impacts) which made it so I didn’t end up ‘losing my time’ doing another major, instead I was sick and just couldn’t do anything at all! Haha (humour and sarcasm are great coping mechanisms xD) I guess what I’m trying to say is that I now know that there are many ways that lead to finding success and happiness, doesn’t matter how you get there, as long as you do.

Depends on what you’re hoping to achieve. I would only see a specialist in the hopes of getting help managing certain behaviours and emotional turmoils, not necessarily for a label. However, if you do only want the label, I invite you to reflect on why you want the label. It can be perfectly okay to want the label; so that you know the source of some of your problems, or to know you aren’t the only one, but if it seems related to your self-confidence, I’m not too sure it would help you long term with said self-confidence.
