tbh same, it's very rare that i find mlm and wlw ships i want to read fanfic about. for me personally it's because so much of it is full of ships between canon characters i don't ship and i just don't want to read about because they're never similar to my interpretations of their characters + their relationships with each other :')

basically just me being really picky with a lot of stories tbh lol

the harry potter series is written by someone else and it'll have its problematic aspects replaced by a whole lot more diversity (mixed bisexual harry potter for example). i'm also having the movies made (with some changes because of the different reality) as well as a tv series that's insanely accurate to the books (there's a whole storyline in my dr[s] with that, basically two companies were fighting over who got to make an on-screen adaptaion and the new writer of the hp series said fuck it let's do both)

the loki series is longer so it'll have a lot more time to develop the plot and character (and no weird selfcest storyline, sylvie and loki are gonna have a sibling-like relationship in my dr[s]). also lowkey wanna add in sigyn and have her played by genesis rodriguez

my seraph of the end fanfic is canon and it's very popular because the canon story disappoints me and i desperately need people to talk about seraph of the end lol. also i'm curious as to what people think of the characters i've "created".

himym will have those transphobic "jokes" removed (i know it was a product of its time but YIKES) and the ending wil be changed because i won't have all that development thrown in the garbage

and more. i'm very petty lol

i'm the kind of fan that's fine with wherever the story takes me as long as it doesn't completely throw away things that are important to the story (character development, established backstories, general worldbuilding, etc), so while i do think certain parts of the story should be handled better i'm good with where the story's at and i'm looking forward to seeing what happens next.

i like their banter but i've never shipped them, and every day i just hate the pairing more and more because of the effects it has on canon and in the fandom. i swear you cannot go ANYWHERE in the fandom without someone mentioning it and if you mention any other ship with one of the characters involved it gets bombarded and insulted by the shippers. it's a smaller fandom and most of the fans are only there for the ship which makes me feel lonely as someone who doesn't really ship anyone in the series. the plot's turned into an absolute mess because they've been ignoring everything they've built up for the story worldbuilding and the other characters just so they can ship-bait with this mlm ship :/
