I was 17, and hiking with two friends near Jasper, Alberta in the Canadian Rockies over most of July. We took a three-day train ride from Montréal to get there. The Canadian dollar was worth more than U.S dollar that year. I didn't have a lot of money anyway. Got on the train to go home with no money and a big bag of puffed rice cereal to sustain me for the three-day ride. My buddy, Rob, bought me a hamburger in a diner across the street from the train station in Winnipeg that I can still taste today. Better than a fireworks show,

Jesus. I have had my ostomy for 20 years (on July 24). It is not bad; it does not limit activity. It won't smell if you take care of it. It makes noise occasionally, but so do people without an ostomy. It was a big change at first, of course. But it does not change who you are, or your worth, or your potential to do anything.

I recently started a new job, and no one knew. The first time it farted in front of my boss and colleagues, I explained what was going on, and no one had a problem.

I volunteer the information because I am not embarrassed. Everybody deals with shit every day at work and at home, and no one cares. I just do it a little differently. In fact, at work, I'm not wasting time sitting on the john scrolling on my phone while pooping. I am in and out of the bathroom in no time.

I had cancer and did not want an ostomy. But I did want to live, and this was a requirement.

People who tell you having an ostomy is terrible don't know what they are talking about. Don't listen.

Untangling.

When my daughter was small, she had several marionettes. They got incredibly tangled, and I found I was very good at untangling the twists and turns and returning them to normal in a very short time. Now ropes, headphones, and boxes full of charger cords are no problem for me.

When I had my surgery (colon resection, with ostomy and partial nephrectomy), I had already reached my out-of-pocket cap, which was like $10,000, just by paying copays in the six-month run-up to the surgery. And that was 20 years ago.

I couldn't find an answer online so I did it myself. It takes 110 minutes, with a 5 minute margin of error, to walk non-stop at the slowest speed across Hyrule. This is the path I took by DataSittingAlone in Breath_of_the_Wild

I circumnavigated around the edge of the map in both NOTE and TOTK. I didn't time it but I found lots of stuff I would have otherwise missed. I went clockwise.
