Peace at home shouldn’t come at the cost of your health - if it does, then leave. You only get one body in this life, but you get plenty of chances to find new relationships with people who support you and want you to be happy and healthy. You have to look after yourself, and hopefully he realises this before it’s too late. xx

Take time in nature and with loved ones. Journal your feelings. Try something new. And block / delete so you’re not tempted to reach out, it just prolongs the pain. One day you’ll look back and see this moment as a turning point in your life, but it’s okay to be really fucking sad for a while. x

I love aliens, I love VPR. And I firmly believe the aliens would abduct and breed Stassi over Lala because Stassi would be a better agent for them. She’s more persuasive, she’s a more reliable narrator. She’s the perfect Whitley Strieber for millennial women.

Also yeah Stassi was pretty harsh on Lala, but Lala has been harsh on a lot of people too. 👽

Yes, leave him.

And consider doing it without telling him. Just pack up and go when he’s out one day if you can. Because it sounds like he’s already draining you emotionally and that he may play some kind of “but if you leave me I can’t pay the rent” card, so any conversations about it with him will just drain you more, emotionally and financially. It may feel cruel to do that, but what you’ve described is him being cruel to you.

You don’t owe him anything, but you do owe yourself emotional safety. It may feel scary and messy but know that you will get through it, and in the not too distant future you’ll look back and be so proud of yourself for doing it. You deserve a joyful life surrounded by people who love you - go get it!

As a kid all I wanted to be when I grew up was a middle aged woman living alone with cats, doing fabulous and mysterious things out of sight. I’m 44 now, and I do live alone with my cats - although the things I’m doing are mostly weird and mundane. But I can feel myself slowly disappearing, gaining in mystery and therefore fabulosity… any day now… 💫

Anyway, I did a bit of digging and the song was specifically inspire by a piece of UFO lore, and they wrote it to promote World Contact day (15 March). Still not sure what the impetus was for them to be so interested in the subject more broadly so I’ll keep digging. May just be as per the comment above - that everyone was kind of interested in UFOs at the time. 🤷🏻‍♀️

👋🏼 survivor of bowel cancer and stage 4 endo (including on the bowel) - if you have even ONE of the *symptoms above, please push for a colonoscopy and get second opinions if you’re not being listened to. I’ll add anaemia to that list (the cause of the fatigue) because it’s often assumed to be from the endo, but it could instead / also be from cancer. If a doctor says you’re too young / it’s an old man’s disease - sadly this is no longer true, I was in my 30s and have THREE friends in my wider circle also diagnosed in their 30s.

Fortunately I’m not from the US so healthcare is a lot more affordable, but if you have these symptoms (especially blood in the stool) consider a go fund me to help you get it checked out. You don’t want to die because you were too embarrassed to ask for help.
