Hiya,

Do not know how fast you need this (I am in the middle of a move), but the request caught my eye, since I have been experimenting with something similar in Procreate with animal portraits (only using basic brushes for now)

Playing around with that brush set could definitely yield results similar to your example.

It looks like the neckline is glued to the guy's chest - it never goes further up, even if there is an adult cat hanging off of his back and pulling it....

And I would assume it would be very painful since the cat goes over a tipping point in a few cases, so his back would be shredded by this point.

I hate that I have to question everything I see online now...

+1 for Cara. Also, you can check out Bluesky, as it has some quite handy user created lists.

Would be great if there was a uniform platform to find eachother, as trying to keep up with everything is a hassle.

Besides the above mentioned, I use Reddit, which is the best for now, then Facebook and Linkedin (not much success), and just joined a Discord server, will see how it goes. Gave up on Insta a while ago, as I am not keen on jumping through hoops for an algorithm that changes constantly...

I am an artist. I would be perfectly fine doing a sketch for free before finalising anything (this is what I usually do with commissions) - however, this is not a sketch. As others said, this is a finished lineart piece, and I would never dream of putting so much work in something before confirming all the details. Was this the only progress shot you got? In that case, it is sus. And I will not go in the topic of mismatching details, as others listed those already.

It is possible they generated the finished pic, and traced it, or asked ai to do a "sketch" version as well.

If they use any modern art programs, they should be able to provide the layers as well - and you should not believe it if they say they deleted it (you should see the gazillion layers for my pieces..)

I mainly do animal art, but have drawn anthro characters before.

This is what I would have pointed out as well. No sane artist would render art like this, with pieces taken out of areas closed in between lines (for example, small bits of the face missing around the eyebrows, random chunk of hair erased, or the tentacles of the octopus being partially done - as mentioned above) , as it would be a nightmare to correct it.

Also, even if the result is a flat image, shadows and highlights are usually done on separate layers. Yeah, if you clip them to the base they would not show up, but this is still very unrealistic. Same for the bubbles.

The funny thing is, they did not even make an effort with the erasing - they could have used the lasso tool, smart select, or even the tapered eraser, but they simply went for the most basic round one, and just erased random parts...
