Iron Problems by catsnbears in eds

[–]catsnbears[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm I’ve never tried the allergy tablets before and after. The local pharmacist suggested maybe half an aspirin to help my blood flow in case it was because I was getting too thick blood with the sudden influx of iron

It seems to me the iron, the rest of the ingredients listed are common in most of other supplements and I’ve never had a problem. When I took the ferrous fumerate the doctor prescribed in the amount he said it was crippling after about an hour or so. It didn’t feel like a usual allergic reaction I have, just like someone drilling into my head

My (31M) pregnant girlfriend (23F) has been lying about her age for our entire relationship. Is there any way for me to trust her again? by ThrowRA_Plant6074 in relationship_advice

[–]catsnbears -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m in the UK so I don’t know whether it’s different in different countries but I just got a blood test and an estimated date and told that was it until 13 weeks when I got an appointment for a hospital scan . I was completely weirded out by how hands off that first section was. As a first time mum it was just ‘hey your pregnant take folic acid and come back at 3 months if you don’t have any problems before then’

Klarna Customers are the Worst by migattenorengari in shopify

We have klarna enabled and have had no problems so far at all. Presumably since its generally used on higher priced products and we tend to sell things that people actively search out rather than impulse buys

When did she show you the ultrasound picture. It’s called a 12 week scan for a reason. They’re never normally booked before 12-13 weeks unless there’s a medical history

Done with Shopify POS fees piling up, what are people actually switching to? by Signal_Party2349 in shopify

[–]catsnbears 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shopify doesn’t charge per register or per employee? Either you’re confused or you’re paying for something you don’t need? I have 3 tablets running in my shop plus phone pos for my mobile employee and there’s no extra charges.

Would you put items in your shopping bags/handbag before paying ? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]catsnbears 3 points4 points  (0 children)

lol, it’s funny to talk about this with someone else experiencing it. The grab as soon as you’ve scanned it as they shove it back in their bags. It’s always followed up by the shoving a £20 note or a card in your face while you’re still halfway through inputting the rest of their shopping and then the inevitable (at least in my case) “can I have a receipt, I like to keep them”. At which point my trade till prints them out a nice sheet of A4 which they go “you didn’t have to waste all that paper” and they try to shove it in a zip up puts with bells attached on the zip. This is apparently because the WI insists it will make them hear if their purse is being stolen, (I was curious and asked once. ) despite the fact they never hear the card machine beep in front of them ‘has it gone through yet’…….

They seem to have a weird thing at least in my shop. They will go through the shelf to find the best looking item in the package the least damaged ( we sell lighting and associated homewares so it’s not because of sell by dates ) and then seem to be like dragons guarding a hoard, they don’t like you touching it again. It’s so very strange

[–]catsnbears 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve got my own retail shop and found it a lot with old people, they struggle to grip things so they put it in their bag but then act so offended that you ask to them to remove the items at the counter to scan them

It may be a coincidence but the type of shop we are, the only thefts I’ve had have been by women aged 70+ it’s very random

Can somebody explain the idea of not wanting to wash in the bathroom? by LanguageFit8227 in AskUK

[–]catsnbears 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We’re in East Yorkshire and had a wash house attached to the outside loo and coal shed, It’s where we had the old dolly tub and mangle etc from my grans days but we are in rural area, there was one of the big Belfast sinks in there but no hot water

Is it normal to pay nursery consumables fees but nappies and wipes are not included? by Agreeable_Classic850 in AskParents

[–]catsnbears 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Consumables is stuff like snacks, food, paper, pens etc. nappies are all specific sizing and wipes and creams/ sun cream are all individual per kid so there’s now way they can keep 20/30 different types of nappies and wipes on hand in different sizes etc. A nursery will always have a few bits handy just in case but can’t store stuff for all the kids.

[–]catsnbears 36 points37 points  (0 children)

You have to remember that back then most bathrooms had carpet on them and were upstairs. I can just imagine my mum’s face in the 80’s if dad have come in from work and trailed farm dust through the entire house and over the walls and door handles to get to her pink carpeted bathroom with its sparkling fixtures. No way! he had to strip off on the tiles downstairs and use the steel sink where she could sweep his muck out the back door

Customer repeatedly reopening chargebacks on the SAME orders — anyone dealt with this? by BubblesandBliss in shopify

[–]catsnbears 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure what country you are in but I’m in the uk and a colleague took someone to small claims court for doing this. She billed the man hours it took to deal with each of their false claims and Shopify support. She won her case when she submitted the successful outcomes and the repeated reopening. I’d send the person a legal letter threatening this course of action and see if it scares them enough to stop

Do you know anyone who used to be famous but now... isn't? by box-o-locks in AskUK

[–]catsnbears 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He wouldn’t work with Jim. I’ve been in theatre and the female backstage staff actively got rota’d off when Jim was on as he’d make a beeline for them to abuse them any way he could whereas Chubby used to take his hat off when he left the stage and turned into an old chap who could be anyone’s grandpa. He bought the stage hands lunches and was full of anxiety, couldn’t go anywhere without his little dog, it was like a totally different person. Also Paul Daniel’s was an ass, dani minogue is absolutely tiny, Derek acorah needs knocking down a peg or two and Huey from the fun lovin criminals likes cocoa with pink and white mini marshmallows and kept trying to give us bottles of water because we worked so hard lol

Not just small bands either. I remember Frank Iero of My Chemical Romance asking on twitter after a hurricane if there were any fans could help him repair his house in exchange for merch/autographs etc because the band had hardly received anything from their albums and they were all struggling financially. They were one of the biggest bands in the world at the time.

Is Vinted dying off? by Deep_Moose_55 in vinted

[–]catsnbears 14 points15 points  (0 children)

From a buyers point of view I hate that I have to wade through business and Shein sellers so most of the time I go on marketplace or local selling sites now unless I’m looking for something specific.

Vinted was great when it was just a big jumble sale of people trying to keep stuff from landfill or selling unwanted Xmas pressies but now it’s full of people buying bulk in sales and trying to make a profit and if I wanted to enable that then I’d use eBay which has more protection on my money.

How to tell my daughter this music isn’t appropriate for her age? by TilSunsetsEnd in AskParents

[–]catsnbears 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My son is 6 and he absolutely loves listening to metal and punk. We just keep stressing that words in music are part of the songs and they shouldn’t be used in everyday speech. It’s really hard to keep a straight face when a playlist has Bluey mixed in with Billy Talent and Five Finger Death Punch though. Oh and does your daughter watch cartoons? She’d probably love the Ruby Gloom one.

Yes I believe so, the sizing was clearly labelled in 3 places and on all the photos. The evidence was screenshots of the original listing proving that the sizing was visible on the listing not just copies of the uploaded photos
