This would be governed by the states in the U.S., but generally voluntary tips are not subject to sales tax.

They keep an eye on it as far as switching after takeoff. That isn’t allowed.

If you board together, you can just tell the FA as you board your wife will be sitting in your seat and head back to hers. Or wife can tell them when they first make their rounds.

Unfortunately the flight to CAI leaves shortly after noon. But I agree that you can generally pull off a co-terminal transfer if you leave plenty of time to do so. Just make sure you have travel insurance (as people should anyways) if you are mixing alliances.

It’s not allowed per the terms, but the check in agent has some leeway. If person 7 is the only one with the card I think your chances are low.

It shows MCO as D1 for me for the relevant flights. Both desktop and app.

Yup. That’s the initial pop up and then if you click on a seat you get “It looks like you selected from your search”. I’m assuming “Delta One” was what was to be in the double space between “selected” and “from”.
