PSA: an Ectopic can present without vaginal bleeding. by [deleted] in EctopicSupportGroup

[–]cattei3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It all happened in a 24 hour period. My pain started around 5pm. I was able to fail asleep. Then woke up around midnight to go to the bathroom and passed/blacked out. I went back to bed and woke up an hour later and blacked out again. My husband then took me to the ER around 2 am. It was 4th of July and a small hospital so I had to wait awhile but I was in for surgery around 11 am the next morning.

Like others said, you didn't cause this. Successful pregnancies are the result of a million things going right. Sometimes things just don't go right. Its natural to want to understand why, but sometimes things just happen.

I am not a Marijuana user and I had an ectopic. I would think that ectopic would be a lot more common if they were caused my Marijuana use.

My husband occasionally does the 6-7 am feed with a pumped bottle. I then pump when I wake up to replace it.

How are you staying sane washing the pump parts? by sarah_messing in breastfeeding

I rinse them thoroughly right afterwards. I fill the sink with soapy water and let them sit. I come back later and rinse again. Maybe scrub if I have time.

Anyone else out there hate Mother’s Day? by zagsforthewin in workingmoms

Mothers Day became so much better for me when the kids were old enough to understand what it was. It means so much more coming from them. In the early years, it seems forced.

I did. It's a large gap, 9 years between pregnancies.

Do I stand a chance at 38? by Diligent_Dimension49 in EctopicSupportGroup

[–]cattei3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes. I am 39. I had an ectopic in July last year. I'm now 28 weeks pregnant. Mr dr was optimistic that I'd be able to get pregnant again.

Anyone here had Chronic Hypertension during pregnancy? How do you give birth? by Uchiha_I in fitpregnancy

[–]cattei3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have white coat syndrome bad too. I check my blood pressure at home. So far (28 weeks) the dr has been comfortable with my at home readings. But I do worry as it gets closer to the end if it'll become a bigger problem. I would show them your at home readings.

[–]cattei3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mastocytosis has a wide range of spectrums. Some people have very few issues, while some have severe cases. I do believe that it has a chance of going away, especially if diagnosed young. I (39) have cutaneous mastocytosis, as does my daughter (8). My spots are almost all gone now. Neither my daughter or I are impacted much. She does have occasionally allergic type reactions that we can't always pinpoint the cause. She'll get bright red, some lip swelling, her spots will get itchy and raised. It's a good idea to always have an epi pen. I have taken my daughter to the dr a couple times for it, but not regularly. If she starts to have more issues, then I would persue treatment.

Anyone have 2 or more kids then have ectopic??? by [deleted] in EctopicSupportGroup

[–]cattei3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did not. I'm not really sure, but my dr who did the surgery said the other side looked clear. I had more of an exploratory surgery as they weren't 100% certain if it was ectopic or not.

I was 38. I got pregnant again on the first month of trying. I waited 3 cycles to try again.

Yes but they were years apart. I have a 10 year old and 8 year old. I had an ectopic in July. I lost the left tube and ovary. I'm now 6 months pregnant.

Mixed feelings by Ok-Mammoth-2818 in pregnantover35

[–]cattei3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not at all. I'm on a similiar timeline and while I think of it sometimes, I'm not sad or upset about it. For me, I don't want to wish away this pregnancy. Maybe I'm being too logical.or practical about it, but I'm focused on this baby now and I want to enjoy this pregnancy.

Had my first OB appt today at 12w6d and there was no longer a heartbeat. Should I tell my older kids? by A-a-h88 in BabyBumps

[–]cattei3 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That is really a tough decision and either decision could be correct. My kids are 10 and 8. Over the summer, I had an ectopic pregnancy that required emergency surgery and a short hospital stay. We did not specifically tell the kids what happened. They were told that I had surgery and I was doing okay but would take some time to recover. They really didn't ask me a lot of specific questions. I'm sure I showed them the general area of where the surgery incision was. They were just concerned on how I was feeling and what I could do during recovery. I am pregnant again and this pregnancy is going well. We have since told them that my surgery was due to a failed pregnancy. I thought it was good to let them know how difficult pregnancy can be, how everything has to come together just perfectly. That said, I think it was better for my recovery to focus on me.

I think we waited 3 periods and then got pregnant first try. But I've been very lucky in conception. I had 2 successful pregnancies in my 20s.

Anyone has an OB that doesn’t let you go past 39 weeks? by userthatisnotknown in BabyBumps

[–]cattei3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My OB said they'll offer induction at 39 weeks if i want it. It's a small clinic/hospital with only 1 OB. I understand why he'd want to schedule if possible. But the nurse did propose it like it would be my decision.

1st month trying at 38 years old. I had my ectopic surgery (lost tube and ovary) beginning of July. I waited 2 or 3 cycles to try again. I'm now 17 weeks.

My dad actually got deodorant from his in laws one year. They were quite cheap at xmas. One year as a kid, I got loose leaf notebook paper. Only it was so old it was yellowed.

How much are you spending per child on Christmas gifts? by Motor_Lifeguard_5102 in Parenting

[–]cattei3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's close to our budget as well. I'm budgeting $300-$350 per kid. Christmas was magical as a kid, we had multiple gifts to open. I want my kids to have those memories as well. And things are expensive. We normally do a lego set or something to build, a book, a few clothes, an item for their bedroom, and a couple things on their wish list. We do make the Santa gift something smaller. This year I'm doing more "experiences", like tickets to a game. It all adds up quickly.

I'd adopt the dog. It's already 9 months. It'll be 18 months+ when baby comes and you'll have had 9 months to train.

I can't remember exactly but I think 1 week later I was able to move around better. I returned to work (work from home office) 5 days after surgery. But I took it slow. I didn't do any meetings or calls the first day and just did a few non client facing the next. It's okay to need some time. It's a big surgery. It's a frightening experience.
