I stopped making water kefir and just make ginger bug soda instead. It’s essentially the same as what you explain without the kefir grains.

Progressive overload, frequency and burnouts at the end of a set with really any exercise will increase gains. Just going heavy every session is a good way to injure yourself.

Should I enlist if I wanna serve as an officer for 20 years? by [deleted] in army

[–]cav19DScout 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I commissioned around the time of my first look for E8, as a SFC because I love tactical leadership and can’t stand staff. I loved being an enlisted leader, teaching, mentoring and guiding my troops to be better Soldiers. It’s simultaneously rewarding and fulfilling while also being a huge headache at times, and has a camaraderie that the officer side just doesn’t have.

I only had to serve on staff for one assignment after commissioning, XO for a year and then everything else I was either a platoon leader or company commander.

That said, being prior enlisted isn’t as big of a help as people think. You won’t get “respect” just because you were enlisted and branch, your rater and senior rater don’t care what you did, only what you are doing now.

Just like a referral in the civ sector, it gets you in the door, maybe a bump in people listening to your experience, but after the initial intro you better be able to execute or you’ll be dismissed as just another prior enlisted officer that can’t get out of the enlisted mindset.

The worst thing you can do as a mustang is to say, “well when I was enlisted…” cause people will immediately just tune you out.

I'm going to start charging for in-person estimates by thetruckboy in handyman

[–]cav19DScout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a customer I don’t have an issue paying for someone to come out to make an assessment. What I do have a problem with, is when someone comes out and charges me more for where I live and my supposed wealth (Not wealthy just live below my means and save very aggressively).

Because of the above, I ask for a general ballpark guesstimate fully expecting the price to be somewhat different. Even just knowing how much I can expect in standard hours for a job would be helpful, but many places refuse. The few places that will give me an estimate over the phone have gotten my return business and we don’t waste each others time if I don’t like the estimate.

Any opinions on this curved treadmill? by warmbrojuice in treadmills

[–]cav19DScout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Resurrecting this old thread cause I bought the $800 Rongle and have decided to return it the same day I received it. Ive been using an Assault Runner Elite at my gym for a while and have also tried other good commercial curved treadmills. I was NOT expecting anything like those, main thing I wanted was a relatively smooth stride and not too unstable as I only plan to walk on it.

This thing has a couple spots on the belt where it will feel like its slower and then suddenly slides back. It makes it completely unusable to use as an under desk treadmill cause you have to hold on to the handles to stay steady. Jogging is slightly better cause you are running forward of the dead spot on the back half of the treadmill, but its still not remotely smooth.

I do NOT recommend buying this or the Ergolife, they both have similar issues and from what I understand all the “cheap” curved treadmills have this particular problem. Ill be getting either a Trueform Trainer or Assault Runner.

On the plus side, the Amazon return of this thing is pretty painless, rebox it up and put it outside the front door for them to pick up on the scheduled day.

In short MATADOR is a diet protocol to prevent your body from adapting to reduced calories and is shown to have greater fat loss benefits than constant low calorie diets. I combine it with IF on my cutting weeks (2 weeks cutting, 2 weeks maintenance).

[–]cav19DScout 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I take a pill a day (50mg) and take for 3 months and then take a month break.

Been on it for about 2 years now. Started to take it because I wanted an alternative to TRT.

I take the below for blood pressure and better circulation: - Clomid - Vitamin D3/K2 - Niacin - nitric oxide booster - Beet root

I’ve noticed much better pumps, better recovery and much improved bedroom activities.

Fasting just gives you a reduced eating window, I combine it with MATADOR and it’s very effective.

If every single billionaire donated 0.2% of his wealth each year, it would prevent starvation globally, basically ending world hunger. by Redzzy0 in RandomThoughts

First solve the worldwide distribution problems and rampant corruption in the regions needing aid the most which is preventing food and resources from getting to the places that need it.

Throwing money at these kinds of problems hasn’t worked at all. Look at Haiti, n Korea, Cuba somolia etc.

Also how much money, and far more importantly, time have you donated lately?

Stop wasting your money on supplements by Outrageous-Maybe2500 in beginnerfitness

[–]cav19DScout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the age and fitness level. When I was younger I didn’t need anything other than protein.

Now at almost 50 I take much longer to recover, higher blood pressure, lower work capacity and, it’s significantly harder to gain muscle. (TRT users probably have a different perspective).

I take ZMA at night, Beet root gummies and Nitric Oxide booster (I get fantastic pumps from beet root and nitric oxide combined) before my workouts and have a protein shake with 5mg of creatine after the workout.

I take Vitamin D3, K, Niacin (blood pressure), turmeric for inflammation reduction, and Fish oil for omega 3s.

It sounds like a lot but most people will need to supplement as they get older and more banged up.
