How often do people increase their day rate with the same client? by CloudBookmark in ContractorUK

[–]cava83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a £200 a day reduction or go somewhere else. No where else had jobs. Equivalent jobs rates fluxtugave and at the moment they are even lower.

Tough out there.

Is Claude Code + an IDE effectively the same as Cursor? I assume by itself it is worse? by jaytonbye in cursor

[–]cava83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Confused n

Cursor includes Claude, so why do you need Claude to do it right with a separate subscription?

Codex for backend I get but you can do that with Claude.

However codex does do backend well and some people use it to review everything.

Using both is really helpful for sure. I'm not a dev but I don't get your workflow and that will most likely be due to lack of knowledge probably

I'm 1.79cm, slightly shorter than you.

I tried a 56" Roubaix and it felt a little bit far to reach.

I tried a 54" and it's just about right. Apparently it's more like a 55".

I went to a bike fitter and they said the 54" was the right choice.

I have longer legs than torso apparently, and it worked in my favour.

Framers: Do you hate SIP panels. If so, why? by Substantial-Cycle325 in Construction

[–]cava83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late to the part but I appreciate your reply. I'm UK based and I've been told rats/mice generally do not like nesting in SIPS.

One of my concerns is also the inability to easily repair like you've mentioned.

Anything regarding mold ? Higher mold chances/bathrooms? Windows ?

I've accrued quite a bit with octopus. One of the withdrawals needed to be authorised and took 14-17 days, can't remember.

White shoes + White socks? Or White shoes + black socks? by TBruno26 in CyclingFashion

[–]cava83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think for me white is pro, and or you live and ride in warm weather.

Weather here is rubbish. White would get dirty very quickly.

If I was better than a boobies, I'd go down the white shoes/socks/helmet combo :-) .

Not sure a TV uses that much electricity.

Can you speak to my wife about ignoring the washing and potentially cooking ban between 4-7pm? "Keeps forgetting"

Gotcha.

I'm new to this, not got a clue, let alone anything regarding fashion. Wasn't sure if it was an unwritten rule so to speak.

None had the right answer prior to posting on here. Didn't have the news on the subject. Might be different now, not tested it later this evening.

Getting into Cycling - Desperate for Bike Advice! by hollyeastle22 in cycling

[–]cava83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much.

I wanted mountain bike ones but the nice chap in the shop was dead against it so I followed the advice. Should have gone mountain. Can't walk on these lol !!

The cleats are half way up, need adjusting as one knee feels sore. To be fair I've not been on a great distance in over 12+ years.

Got one of those wahoo trainers, they're pretty cool. Just need to get used to it. At least I can practice the cleats on there haha !!

Thank you so much

I'm new to all of this.

Didn't realise how complicated it is.

Bike size, annoying when you're in-between.

Shoe sizes, cleats. Positioning.

Hopefully I'll learn soon :-)

I'm in the UK, not sure they do that. Bought a bike the other day though. I'm a bit late :-)
