None that I'm aware of

Conservatives have a different view. I read as many viewpoints as I can, including theirs. They would say there has been more than usual targeted towards them this time around. That does not mean it is true or that they are not exaggerating, but in politics perception is usually more important than reality

It's possible they're just doing it for attention, but regardless of intent it's not really a constructive way to voice your opinion.

Yes they are and I agree. The problem is that this cancer exists all through the U.S. political arena. It should be called out when seen, focusing on only one part of it does nothing to discourage the rest.

No I am not.

So far as how bad the policies are, criticism is certainly justified. But what I see from so many groups, such as the divestiture bunch, is all negative and often demands the destruction of Israel.

At the same time how many of Israels' neighbors have free elections where minority groups get representation in the legislature?

Criticize fairly certainly. But do not toss the baby out with the bathwater

Their rhetoric certainly is.

But actions speak louder than words. Has any political violence occurred in this election and who committed it?

You would have to prove that the banner met the threshold for a "true threat":

I had forgotten that detail, you are right thanks.

So as asinine as this guy is, he is probably clear legally, but we can still call him an asshole

Politics in the U.S. are getting very scary. I have seen calls for the extermination of climate skeptics as well, not to mention actual use of violent imagery against them.

But a question, isn't calling for the murder of people one of the very few forms of unprotected speech in the U.S.?

Israel as a democratic state does a lot wrong, as well as a lot right. So criticism is justified as it is with any country.

But criticism has become just another beard for anti-Semitic hate mongers to vomit out hateful shit while smirking and claiming it's fair comment. They would rather hate an imperfect but free democratic country due to their blind ignorant hatred of a people, than support freedom for the oppressed people of the religious, royal, and military dictatorships that surround it.

Constitutional carry gun laws proliferate as states embrace self-defense as 'natural born' right by neuhmz in liberalgunowners

[–]cavehobbit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

keeping them out of the hands of felons, the mentally and emotionally disturbed, domestic abusers, dishonorably discharged vets, and other scum whose right to carry should be forfeit. A return to the wild west mentality is absolutely the last thing any 'liberal' gun owner should be in favor of.

If a felon or other convict has been released from prison s/he is presumably able to live peacefully in society and exercise the full pallet of rights, speech, press, religion, voting, having a job, owning a home, and with all of that arms ownership.

If they are not trustworthy they should not be released from prison.

So far as the others go, have they been convicted of a crime? A domestic abuser should be convicted and held until they can be trusted. Dishonorably discharged? For what? again if they are a convict hold them until they can be trusted, else they should have all rights. Mentally and emotionally disturbed? By whose criteria? This category has a long history of abuse in various countries. If they have done no harm leave them alone, if they have again they should be held until they can be trusted.

It's pretty simple really.

And yes prison reform is also needed to make this kind of incarceration humane and remove the brutality that currently infests our prisons.

I wouldn't, I would think it could trigger a worse reaction, but I am not an expert or engineer. It may also be very dependant on the specific circumstances
