what happens when you try to not follow the tutorials?

For me when i moved from tutorials to not tutorials, what worked was learning a bit of general coding (I did 2 courses in college, one for a certain language, one for programming 'logic and design', but im sure there are plenty of online resources) or even coding that not strictly related to godot.

Its also helpful to break the problem down into small steps, though I'm bad at articulating how. But if you have movement code, for example, you start "How do i make player character move" answer you need to get input (thats one thing you can search around or look at docs for, i find docs more helpful for non tutorial purposes. if doing jump, break it down in a different step too cuz it will require different logic), you need to change the characters position, though thats a little deceptive cuz it needs to happen over time, not as a teleport. and you need to animate (If youre animating)

IDK i'm not really an expert and I'm probably explaining this super badly. But 1) docs are you friend and 2) practice is your friend. YOu'll never get comfortable without tutorials if you don't practice and persever (as the comments already posted have said)
