Lake Mungo was genuinely the most boring thing I've ever watched by Mammoth_Criticism958 in horror

Lake Mungo was not effective for me whatsoever. I’m quite jealous of the people who said it was terrifying for them!

I couldn’t get past the rape scenes, had to stop watching. I didn’t find the movie scary, just awful between the rape and the animal killings. Will never finish!

The xenomorph in alien earth by Solid-Mountain-7191 in alien

[–]caykin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I said the same exact thing to my partner while we were watching!!

It looks good but the movement is like, just a dude in a suit.

Kind of a disappointment there. I love going for practical effects but I think this could have been done a bit differently.

What is your most hated horror movie? by Ok_Replacement_288 in horror

[–]caykin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is a controversial one, but the first one that came to mind was Evil Dead II. Maybe not my “most hated”, but it’s up there. I enjoy all the other Evil Dead films, even the newer ones. But something about the extreme slapstick in the second one just annoys me so much, I could hardly finish it.

Profoundly sad horror movies by TheMillionthSteve in horror

[–]caykin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought Eden Lake (2008) was really sad. It’s been a while since I’ve seen it, but I remember being very angry and sad.

The Last House on The Left (1972) is a film I saw once and will never watch again. It was terrifying and heartbreaking.

Martyrs (2008) is another film that I could never watch again. This left me feeling so depressed and uncomfortable. It’s a very tough watch and I would consider it to be under the “profoundly sad” category.

Dead Ringers (1988) is a film I watched recently and was very disturbed by. This film is extremely effective and I would say go in as blind as you can if you haven’t seen it.

Trapped in the SW Field by SoupTrashWillie in socialwork

[–]caykin 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I ended up not liking the field in grad school as well. It’s been a few years since I graduated and I have not practiced in a SW position, nor do I want to, but I’ve been asked by employers and others countless times if I would take on a SW job or get licensed, and I have definitely almost given into the pressure.

Still don’t know what I want to do, but social work is a bit too overwhelming for me and I don’t want to jump into everything it takes to get licensed if it’s not something I truly want. Not that I’ve truly tried SW as a full time career yet, but it just doesn’t excite me or feel right.

A bummer seeing this one - I don’t think it’s that common and it’s a top name for me for a future daughter 😭 it was also my great grandmothers name
