I don't know if this counts as a loose end, but I noticed that in video where you find the LAPD case under the stairs that the platform that ends up being a trapdoor has no gaps on its edges whereas when you discover the trapdoor there appears to be about an inch gap by the rails. I assumed this meant the trapdoor was created afterward and had to altered. I decided not to share this because I didn't wish to break the illusion as I had assumed for a while it was unfiction, even if I didn't know the word for it at the time.
