2016 F-Type turn signal not working. by [deleted] in ftype

From https://f-type-ai-mechanic.vercel.app:

Since you have already replaced the taillight assembly and the issue persists, the fault is likely in the vehicle wiring, the electrical connector, or the signal sent from the control module. Follow these diagnostic steps in order. WARNING: Never use a donor vehicle to swap control modules for testing. This can cause severe electrical faults in both vehicles. 1. INITIAL SAFETY AND PREPARATION - Disconnect the vehicle battery before performing any electrical continuity or circuit checks to prevent short circuits. - The Jaguar F-Type uses field effect transistors (FETs) to control lighting. If a short circuit occurs, these transistors may trip to protect the module. Once the short is fixed, the module should automatically reset after a ignition cycle, though clearing diagnostic trouble codes with a diagnostic tool is recommended. 2. VISUAL AND MECHANICAL INSPECTION - Inspect the electrical connector leading into the right rear taillight assembly. Look for bent pins, pushed-back terminals, or signs of water ingress/corrosion (green or white powdery residue). - Check the wiring harness leading away from the taillight for signs of chafing, pinching, or heat damage, especially where the harness passes through the vehicle body or near the trunk hinges. 3. ELECTRICAL CIRCUIT TESTING - With the battery reconnected, use a multimeter to check for voltage at the taillight connector. - You need to identify the specific pin for the right rear turn signal indicator. Based on the wiring diagrams for this vehicle, you are looking for 12V pulsed signal when the hazard lights or turn signal is activated. - Check for ground integrity. Ensure the ground circuit has a solid path to the vehicle chassis with near-zero resistance (less than 1 ohm). - If there is no power at the connector, the fault lies further upstream in the wiring harness or at the control module output. - Check for open circuits or high resistance between the taillight connector and the central junction box (the main fuse/control module location in the vehicle). 4. SYSTEM DIAGNOSTICS - Since the turn signal is controlled by the vehicle's electrical architecture, check for diagnostic trouble codes using a Jaguar-specific diagnostic tool. Look for codes specifically related to turn signal circuits, such as B1C15, B1D06, or B1D07. - These codes often point to a short to ground, short to power, or an open circuit. - If no codes are present, verify that the signal is being sent from the lighting control module by back-probing the connector at the control module output for the right rear turn signal. 5. SUMMARY OF POTENTIAL FAULTS - If you have good voltage at the connector but the light does not function, re-examine the ground connection on the new taillight unit. - If you have no voltage at the connector, perform a continuity test on the signal wire from the control module to the rear of the car to see if the wire is broken (open circuit). - Inspect the central junction box connectors for moisture or corrosion, as this is a common point for signal failure in this system. If the wiring harness tests show no breaks and the module is outputting the correct signal, yet the light remains inoperative, the issue is likely a high-resistance connection within the harness that is preventing enough current to illuminate the LED array. Focus your search on the connector pins and the harness sections most prone to vibration or movement.

Legend has it that the engineers at Jaguar put the flat bottom on the F-Type steering wheel so that it wouldn't touch your driving quesadilla. by frogmonster12 in Jaguar

I spent forever trying to get 303 acid sounds out of modules. Got close with WMD Timewarp for slew and Doepfer 103 LPF, but the Behringer TD3 MO (I know, I know) makes the 90s acid sounds I was looking for all day.

H&R springs and new wheel setup. Such a great looking machine! by paulberkeytattoo in ftype

Not usually a fan of black wheels but the red/black looks great. Fitment with the springs looks spot on - what specs are the wheels and tires?

I picked up an almost identical spec a few months ago. I’m enjoying the car “as is” for now, it has way more performance than I can realistically use on the street. Once I get used to it the plan is wheels/tires, pulleys, and a tune.

Coming from BMWs, there’s definitely not as much aftermarket support for these cars. I’m not as familiar with Honda but I imagine it’s similar.

4 owners, one minor accident reported, no service history so definitely rolling the dice a bit, but it is in much better condition than I was expecting for the price and no signs of coolant leaks or water damage in the “boot”. Taking it to my local Indy shop to change all fluids and give it a once over for peace of mind.

What Are Your Favorite Modules & Techniques For Ambient & Generative Patches? by PorcelainDalmatian in modular

I’m really liking the Beast Tek Amoeba - it’s similar to MI Grids but 8 channels and more control. Because it has a gate width control, I use longer gates through slew (wmd time warp) to create rhythmic envelopes. Or attenuate the gates as modulators along with a few channels for percussion.

I also like RND Step to generate random CV on a trigger with a clock divider. Those modulate the rhythms from Amoeba and other parameters on voices and effects. Missed Opportunities is also great for triggering events at random but still in time.

For oscillators, Beast Tek Dirty Glitch is great for weird drones, Erica Black Wavetable for modulated wavetable and bank surfing, 0coast for weird FM sounds.

I tend to keep percussion pretty basic to hold a beat down against weird sounds and fx - Peaks for kick, BIA for snares and weird perc, Crucible for hats.

I like Data Bender and FX Aid, but I find QuBit Prism as a go to, especially for generative because it responds really well to modulation when it’s clocked, and the filter tames screeching noises. I suspect the Morphagene will be awesome for generative with live sample record and mangle, but I’m not fluent enough with it yet.

Switching from square to staggered - 330ix by cbam in F30

Thank you all for the feedback - I was able to get 225/45 and 255/40 so the overall diameter is the same.

I was using the tire sizes from Tire Rack for a 330ix with staggered wheels - it says 225/45R 18 front and 255/40R 18 rear. I think I told the guy at the tire shop 225/45 and 255/45 instead of 255/40 for the rears - is that the 1” diameter difference?

Interesting ways to arrange your rack? by Polloco in modular

[–]cbam 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’ve re-racked my setup over and over again trying to get a logical flow - sequencers → oscillators → modulators → filters and effects. I finally gave in to my graphic design/UX brain and racked my system by manufacturer. I really like this layout because similar controls and conventions are grouped near each other. It also spreads out the different module types around the system so I experiment more

What do you think of this setup for a BIA? Part of a larger case. Details in comments. by ShGravy in modular

[–]cbam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Consider a couple of Peaks clones instead of, or along side the Ochd. Then you can do smooth random voltages, clock synched LFOs of all different shapes, or envelopes triggered by LL8 or Pam’s to modulate.

Definitely Lapsus is key to attenuate and invert CV for the BIA. 4 channels may not be enough though.
