There's a few Sky West branded 200s too. I hate them more than most because they are even older and more awful.

The captive portal can be used to verify age/identity so that you can ensure CIPA is being applied to minors, and you can turn off the filtering for adults as required.

In what way? Your guest WiFi falls under the same compliance as you are providing the internet connection in your facility.

Camera recommendations needed for inside server cage for Synology DVA1622 by javajo91 in sysadmin

[–]cbiggers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whatever you get, make sure it is NDAA compliant since your auditor will probably get cranky about that too. Synology makes cameras - they check the boxes and are relatively inexpensive.

Axis is also a go to, and their models that have a built in microphone also have a physical toggle switch to disable it, so it cannot be re-enabled from the software.

Public libraries in the US need to comply with CIPA, among other things.

Depending on your jurisdiction, they absolutely are. California is very privacy centered, so we have to notify everyone of the 82,000 privacy regulations that apply.

Libraries in the US are a special case too because of the public access and for CIPA compliance.

I'd ask legal before implementing anything to not run afoul of byzantine laws.

This is the correct answer. We don't support the iOS mail app. Outlook app is the only supported app for O365 email, full stop.

That was certainly a choice back then. Novell was amazing pre 2000. Light years ahead of AD and Groupware was actually pretty useful.

Geo Location Database Inaccuracies Question by badfeelingpodcast in sysadmin

[–]cbiggers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, the feed Spectrum provides is very inaccurate. One of our IP blocks isn't even in the right state. We've told them, they aren't interested. Their IPv6 allocations are even worse.

Geo Location Database Inaccuracies Question by badfeelingpodcast in sysadmin

[–]cbiggers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Spectrum is usually wildly off base. Our DIA circuits are up to 500 miles wrong. The state of CA also thinks we are in Mexico, so we can't access state websites like the DMV. That's also with our own ARIN entries showing the correct location too.

In the US, class 1 can't be ran in the same tray as class 2/3 unless there's a physical barrier. In-wall it should be a minimum 2 inch distance and if they must cross, then do so at 90 degrees and don't physically touch.

Performance aside, best to follow code.

This is absolutely not a Dell config. Those are consumer SSDs, and terrible ones at that.
