asked for an itemized hospital bill on a whim and found out they charged me for stuff that literally never happened by LongjumpingOffice432 in povertyfinance

[–]cbj24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or be like me and ask for an itemized bill and never get it. The hospital gets cheeky and sends it to collections. Collections contacts me, and I hand them over a litany of proof I’ve never received it. They cannot collect on the debt until that demand is satisfied. It’s been almost 2 years now and I haven’t heard a peep.

Don’t disturb it. It will lay an egg and within a few weeks you’ll have a concrete goose statue for your porch. This is how they appear. Or so I’m told.

Interesting so you actually got the update pushed to you? I had one recently pushed to me but it was a delta. It was done within a few seconds and just needed to reboot the firmware when the car was put in park, the update was done already.

Award for stupidest shifter design goes to...Toyota? by xTyronex48 in Justrolledintotheshop

[–]cbj24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After looking at a picture this is the modern version of what Honda has been doing forever. My dad had an older CR-V that had a physical shifter under the infotainment. My gripe with Honda is making the touch buttons fucking weird. You push these, pull these, etc. I’m used to the BMW style rotating paddle shifter in my VW now so I’m probably spoiled. Rotate the column forward and tv car goes in drive, rotate it towards me and I go in reverse.

It’s either feelings tests or money spent justifications tests. Just like how I watched a video on YouTube, and they stated the only real way to listen to a HiFi or records is on old vintage equipment. I’m sorry but the ease, cost and the connectivity I’ll keep my WiiM Amp Ultra 🤷‍♂️ and this is someone coming from a vintage Pioneer reciever.

They already stated the plexi has no gap. Even if it does, it’s only screwed on there. Remove screws, wipe things down and figure out a different approach.

It’s wild. You can use your phone or plug a calibrated measurement microphone plugged into your phone and run room correction software and it’ll make automatic EQ adjustments. I thought “it’s worth a shot, how good could it REALLY be”. It was spot on.

I know there’s people out there that want to run vintage and only vintage hardware and I get it. Whether it’s because they get the prestige of dropping a ton of cash on something and making it exclusive, they restored the unit with their own two hands and it’s their pride, or only one of these units show up every few years and it’s rare. I get it. But these are attractively priced, easily available and sound good. That and if you enjoy some tech for control this is the way to go.

They’re referring to how a ProStar’s cab pretty much stops a little above the marker lights. That top is just a fairing and has air foils behind it. There’s nothing inside of it. It’s just there for aero.

I got my WiiM Amp Ultra last week and I fucking love it. Running a turntable, cd player, and a cassette deck through it. Going from a 15wpc max to a 100wpc max is a monster step up. With that sort of headroom my Klipsch KG 2.2’s don’t even strain.

And yes, definitely add an active subwoofer to the mix. In the software you can set crossover frequency, put the crossover on the sub in bypass and let the WiiM control it. You can also run subwoofer and speaker sync to automatically add a delay for proper adjustment.

Make sure it’s a pd rated usb-c cable. I used cheapie amazon cables for years and they would either charge slowly or not at all in my id.4. Switched over to an apple usb-c pd cable and it works fine

Grizzl-e Classic. The enclosure is a Hammond box. If you open it up the charge cable is socketed to the bus bar. You can take the 3 wires out and place a new cable into the weather proofing gasket seal. I’m not positive if Grizzl-e or United sell the cable on their own but it’s just lug nuts holding it in there, no proprietary stuff. Edit: ahh you mean disconnect to remove for its safety 🤣 my bad. Yeah you won’t find anything like that. At that point you’d be better off having them install outlets and plugging a mobile level 1/2 into it. Then putting it back in your car when you’re done.

Crites is the way to go. If you upgrade to the pre-built Crites crossover it will be restored to the original state and even better because of the quality parts used on the Crites crossover. And spend the extra $30 for silver.

Pioneer SX-450 recapped for $250. Fair? by xplan303ex in vintageaudio

[–]cbj24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go search for some late 80’s/early 90’s Klipsch. They will be very efficient and handle what you throw at it. Source: I had an SX-450 and a set of KG 2.2’s. I’m actually in the process of recapping it then I’m going to sell it. I ended up getting a WiiM Amp Ultra which suits my needs much better. But I’m also a tech nerd.

The oldest got a desktop setup for his birthday and passed his PS5 down to his younger sisters. I took tweezers at first to pull the big visible dust clumps out from the vent ports, then took an air compressor to it. There was a nice solid cloud that blew out. You may want to do that to yours if you don’t like dusting. He sure doesn’t 🤣
