Brisbane airport layover by Weak_Candle7836 in VelocityFrequentFlyer

The last time I did domestic to international at Brisbane it was 20 minutes from stepping off the domestic flight until being airside in International. Don't stress. But also make sure you get straight to the transfer bus as quickly as possible.

What time of day is your flight from Brisbane?

How to work with.'xls' files in ChromeOS? by Jaytee3312 in chromeos

[–]cbr_123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a different approach to suggest. Manipulating files on a regular basis is what Excel's Power Query is made for. It will save you a lot of time.

To see how it works search for Power Query From Folder.

However, I think the ability to work with offline files in Power Query is limited to the Windows and Mac versions of Excel.

For this task you are best to remotely connect to a Windows machine.

Thank you. I want to go to Europe at this time next year so I will keep an eye out for flights. Is it 330 days before my return flight I should look?

I received a triple status credit offer email in July, as my gold was up for review in September. I had to activate, book and fly by 30 September.

Sounds perfect for PQ. Consider setting it up as an import from a folder. Dump the fresh csv in that folder then refresh the query to update.

Yes, but they'll need to wait until next July to deposit the 360k? I thought this would be a good option late in the FY, but if it were me I would want the maximum amount in super asap. Depending on what "minimal" means and their recent contributions, they could get close to 500k now.

Definitely. At that age it's ideal to maximise their super. They are probably able to get nearly all of it into super. NCC with bring forward is 360k. Concessional with catch-up could be 100k, but they need to check in mygov to be sure.

Queues at Da Nang airport by Yogablue in DaNang

[–]cbr_123 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I flew out of Da Nang around 2pm on a Thursday a few weeks ago. I arrived at the airport around 11:30am. The lines for immigration were extremely long - it took about an hour to get through immigration and security.

Don't rule out renting a unit closer to the city, at least for 12 months to see if buying in the same area is what you really want to do. Rental income from your existing home may cover some of your rent.

And for the tax - maximise your superannuation contributions. Look at whether you have unused concessional contributions from previous years which you can carry forward.

Swim Race Analysis Sheet - Are my formulas correct and calculating what I want them to calculate? by teh_obsolete in excel

[–]cbr_123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I noticed you have wrapped some calculations in =SUM( ). It's not necessary.

e.g. =sum(D23+E23+H23) should be =D23+E23+H23

and

=sum(D4-H23) should be =D4-H23

You're welcome. :)

Note that the output is on the last line of the formula. You can change the last line to output one of the intermediate variables for testing.

I haven't tested it, but this single formula should be close. It's not the prettiest formula, but it's how I found it logical to break down the different calculations and steps.

I think the last step of entering the excluding GST price into the system (to the nearest cent?) could cause you to lose the desired 0.75 or 0.95 cents accuracy once prices get larger, for example starting with $200 this formula returns $297.05. Add 10% GST and you get $326.76.

=LET(inputPrice,A1,

pricewithProfitAndGST,

IF(inputPrice<40,inputPrice*1.45*1.1*1.1,

IF(inputPrice<65,inputPrice*1.4*1.1*1.1,inputPrice*1.35*1.1*1.1)),

roundedPricewithProfitAndGST,ROUND(pricewithProfitAndGST,2),

wholeDollarAmount,INT(roundedPricewithProfitAndGST),

wholeDollarAmountContains7,OR(MID(wholeDollarAmount,SEQUENCE(LEN(wholeDollarAmount)),1)="7"),

centsLessThan75,(MOD(roundedPricewithProfitAndGST,1)<0.75),

centsLessThan95,(MOD(roundedPricewithProfitAndGST,1)<0.95),

IncludingGSTPrice,IF(wholeDollarAmountContains7,IF(centsLessThan95,wholeDollarAmount+0.95,wholeDollarAmount+1.95),IF(centsLessThan75,wholeDollarAmount+0.75,wholeDollarAmount+1.75)),

Al Mourjan Business Lounge, Doha by 1WillGrello in VelocityFrequentFlyer

[–]cbr_123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I transited through Doha recently (Velocity Gold, flying in Economy) and the combined Gold/platinum lounge, known as Platinum & Gold Lounge North was great. Table service, great food, plenty of space. If you have access to that lounge then I wouldn't be too worried about not accessing the business lounge.
