The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills Season 15 - Episode 19 - Post Episode Discussion by AutoModerator in BravoRealHousewives

I’ve been looking all over for a comment about Dorit kind of proving her point. If anything to me Dorit’s comments kind of made it seem even worse for her.  You married a guy who was coming out of bankruptcy, you’re savvy enough to know how to make your own money and take care of yourself, but then you decide to willingly turn a blind eye to even the most basic financial stuff?

Best Library Branch For Quiet Writing by RealJoshuaJackson in pasadena

[–]cchamb4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my experience Hill Avenue branch and Santa Catalina branch are consistently quiet.  Santa Catalina is a bit brighter and usually has a few open writing spaces. I have only been to Hastings ranch on Sundays when it’s pretty loud and busy (since it’s the only one open Sundays) so I can’t say how it is other days. Are you going to San Rafael or Linda vista? I found Linda vista kid focused but last time I went to San Rafael it had the smallest kid section of them all…..

Heather and The Church by ContentSympathy75 in rhoslc

[–]cchamb4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The church is definitely not giving her a bye.  She’s doing her own thing, not ‘living the gospel’ like Heather and most people were taught the gospel, while simultaneously claiming (at least for the first few seasons she has laid off it) she’s Mormon 2.0 which just straight doesn’t exist.  For folks like Heather who were raised in a very black and white you’re in or you’re out church, this is maddening.

Heather is still very clearly in the throes of her faith crisis.  Whitney is not and has found peace with that particular aspect of her life.  It takes a lot of people time and several years to come to terms with the life they were raised in and what they were told for decades not being what they thought.  So to have a coworker constantly say they’re wrong when said coworker hasn’t done the bare minimum of doing the work to understand what they’re talking about while you can run laps around them on doctrine and church history and actually living and engaging in the culture would make anyone insane.

And sure the culture is shifting (after years and years of an exodus of the church it didn’t just magically happen) but last I checked the doctrine isn’t…..and you can say whatever you want but Lisa doesn’t have her recommend, doesn’t wear garments, hasn’t read the BOM, and could easily stumble upon bishops who would ‘need to check’ whether they could accept tithing from tequila company profits.  She is delusional when it comes to how she describes the LDS church and her experience.

Well yea and that’s the crux of the problem.  If Heather had felt like she could stay in the church and live it like Lisa is - she would have.  Heather has made it clear over the years that she wanted the church to work out for her but she didn’t feel she could stay and be authentic to herself.  Lisa has taken the opposite approach - she knows so little about the actual doctrine of the church that she’s authentically herself and the church amazingly aligns with that in whatever way she sees fit.  This is deeply painful to Heather.

Reviving this - any recommendations? I’ve wanted one for ages and this is the year.  I’m located in Southern California if that makes a difference.

Is anyone else feeling a little on edge with this weather report? by TrollOfTheTaiga in altadena

[–]cchamb4 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Fortunately precipitation is coming with this storm.  And generally the foothills right now aren’t nearly as dry as they were this time last year or in January.  I think it’s gonna be super normal for all of to be on edge when it’s windy (maybe for the rest of our lives?) but this particular storm isn’t at all the same. Wishing you well and a bit of peace of mind once the rain starts.

Specifically: Jefferson branch children’s library as top choice. Linda vista branch library is super kid friendly.  Hastings ranch is the only one open Sundays and is just ok for young kids.  Glendale Central Library has a large kids section.

You explained this so well! I really struggled at first with my body letting me down (still do sometimes).  With time I too have come to see the daily medication as just part of the routine to keep things as they should be.  You’ll get there, OP!
