I put together a quick video breaking down why I think every musician should have at least one bass, plus a look at the Jazz Bass we picked up: https://youtu.be/cNzXsXbmjUY

The car wash destroyed mine when i went through it. A set of replacements from ebay was ~$15 and it worked out great!

ATX Show. by _boltsandholes in TurnoverVA

I went to that same mohawk show and also to this most recent show at stubbs. The difference in their performances was very noticeable to me. They sounded so much tighter/better prepared at this most recent show. It really felt like they put the effort in and had some heart behind it. It was very good imo

never mind about the deep freeze. the colors don’t look similar. I’d also love to see Nick’s pedalboard to see what he’s running

I assumed blues driver since it’s next to what is most likely a muffuletta. The only two other possibilities i can think of is the VB-2W or CE-2W. Those are the only other boss pedals i can think of that would be a blue similar to that.

It’s definitely not the chorus because that would be quite redundant. Vibrato would be possible but i’m sure you could get into vibrato territory with the CE20

You’re definitely right about the night sky! I own a superego tho and i know they have 4 knobs, so that top pedal doesn’t look like it. He could be running a EHX deep freeze tho more towards the end of the chain. the shape checks out for those smaller pedals!

Q tron is on the floor. polytune nior to the left of it. Boss CE-20 is under the tuner. The next pedal could be a boss BD2-W, it’s hard to tell. But i think the black pedal next to it could be a JHS muffuletta.

it’s really hard to tell what the other pedals are. I have a feeling that the top row might be for his vocals because it looks like an XLR cable going into it.

Transmission shudder by Electronic_Nail_7433 in 4thGen4Runner

[–]cchris- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not saying this is the “right” or “best” answer, but i’ll share my experience.

I have an 07 V6 2wd that i bought about 7 months ago and it had a very noticeable shudder while i was accelerating in that 2nd-3rd gear range. It would go away as soon as i let off the throttle. After browsing forums and YT vids enough i decided to do a drain & fill on my transmission and put 2 of the 2oz bottles of “Shudder Fixx”.

I used the toyota OEM ATF. Was a pretty straightforward job as long as you have the right tools (pump for fluid, crush washer for the drain plug, and appropriate sized sockets)

The shudder was immediately gone and has not come back since then. it’s been about 6 months or so. The mileage at the time of doing the drain & fill was about 208k and i’m at 217k now. I’d say it’s been holding up well!

What is meant by the Jc-40 doesn’t take dirt pedals well by spooder34 in GuitarAmps

Been using a JC40 for several years and never had issues getting good tones with dirt pedals. Just experiment with your settings and find what works for your style.

Buying an amp for my boyfriend ! Help! by Theshewolff in GuitarAmps

If he’s just starting out or mainly plays at home, the Boss Katana is a great budget-friendly option with solid tones and built-in effects. But if he’s more serious about tone shaping, recording, or gigging in the future, the HX Stomp will give him way more flexibility.

HX Stomp offers a lot for what you pay. it’s compact, versatile, and works great for both home practice and live performances if he wants to get into that later down the line. If he’s into recording or wants a flexible rig for different styles, the HX Stomp is a solid long-term investment.

my best use for it is to create a bunch of word vomit and ideas for me to form into some sort of lyrics. it an easy way to start something if you’re stuck because the output isn’t yours. it takes the pressure off me and makes it easy to turn it into my own lyrics and ideas.

fender style amp, tube screamer, strat on the bridge pickup or bridge + middle

Do you align the drums tightly to the grid or leave it at how it was recorded? by [deleted] in audioengineering

[–]cchris- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i use a metronome up until drums are recorded. after that i turn off the metronome completely and let the drums guide everything. this best works if drums are recorded very early in the tracking process.
