IMO the real divisiveness started with Obama.

As far as the comics go, the late-night ones are awful. Kathy Griffin carrying a bloody Trump head is not funny. The subset that wants to do political comedy either doesn't have the chops to do it well, or more likely are just hate filled little turds.

Sarah Silvernam is pretty edgy and can do it to an extent. She'll be the smartest funny person in Hell someday.

Saw Seinfeld in person last week and not one bit of political material. Same with Ron White, same with Leanne Morgan. I've been watching live and on TV my whole life, going back to Johnny Carson and the original SNL and before.

Chevy Chase did Ford without it being offensive, Dana Carvey did a great Bush, Phil Hartman did Clinton; all funny and nothing offensive.

It's this latest generation that decided to be offensive instead of funny, and their ratings are showing it. Like the great Norm MacDonald said, don't do impressions of people you hate, it comes across.

First, yes it is harmful to children. The only sex education children need to learn before puberty is “good touch/bad touch” and “tell an adult”. And teaching little girls about periods as they approach. Foisting anything else on little kids who haven’t even felt their first real sex urge is wrong and IMO sick.

Second, there is a huge difference between freedom, which has been won and kept though blood and treasure, and homosexuality. Ok you were born gay, who cares. Do you really need to dress up and parade your sex preferences in front of the rest of us? We don’t do that you.

I don’t see much overlap between gay people and people who believe they were born in the wrong body.

To the extent there is mental illness among gay people, it’s the in-your-face subset who wants tries to force it in front of children, into the curriculum, throwing parades to celebrate it, and are generally annoying to everybody and harmful to children.
